Background: To investigate alterations in choroidal vascularity index among highly myopic adults with fundus tessellation, utilizing optical coherence tomography.
Methods: Total of 143 highly myopic adults (234 eyes) with fundus tessellation were collected in this cross-sectional study, which was stratified into different lesion groups based on the novel tessellated fundus classification. Subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT), choroidal luminal area (LA), stromal area (SA), total choroidal area (TCA), and choroidal vascularity index (CVI) were analyzed utilizing optical coherence tomography (OCT) with enhanced depth imaging (EDI) mode, enabling precise quantification of these parameters.
The importance of protein kinase B (AKT) in tumorigenesis and development is well established, but its potential regulation of metabolic reprogramming via phosphorylation of the hexokinase (HK) isozymes remains unclear. There are two HK family members (HK1/2) and three AKT family members (AKT1/2/3), with varied distribution of AKTs exhibiting distinct functions in different tissues and cell types. Although AKT is known to phosphorylate HK2 at threonine 473, AKT-mediated phosphorylation of HK1 has not been reported.

Introduction: Myopic maculopathy is a sight-threatening disease, which causes irreversible vision faults and central vision loss. The purpose of this study is evaluating the risk factors of the myopic maculopathy progression according to the ATN classification system.
Methods: Clinic data of 69 high myopia patients aged older than 40 years with a follow-up time of more than 2 years, who underwent fundus photography and OCT examination were retrospectively collected.
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), an anxiety-related syndrome, is associated with increased risk for cardiovascular diseases. The present study investigated whether predator scent (PS) stress, a model of PTSD, induces sensitization of hypertension and anxiety-like behaviors and underlying mechanisms related to renin-angiotensin systems (RAS) and inflammation. Coyote urine, as a PS stressor, was used to model PTSD.
