An early diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is still challenging: Currently, few biomarkers are available to diagnose the early stage of HCC, therefore, additional prognostic biomarkers are required to identify potential risk factors. The present study analyzed gene expression levels of HCC tissue samples and the protein expression levels obtained from the GSE46408 HCC dataset using Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analyses.

An upconversion nanosensor with phenolic-like functionality for accurate identification of chlorpyrifos in grapes.

The inappropriate use of the organophosphorus pesticide chlorpyrifos (CPF) in agricultural production could be harmful to the environment and non-target organisms. Here, we prepared a nano-fluorescent probe with phenolic function based on covalently coupled rhodamine derivatives (RDP) of upconverted nano-particles (UCNPs) for trace detection of chlorpyrifos. Due to the fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) effect in the system, the fluorescence of UCNPs is quenched by RDP.

A Comprehensive Review on Upconversion Nanomaterials-Based Fluorescent Sensor for Environment, Biology, Food and Medicine Applications.

Near-infrared-excited upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) have multicolor emissions, a low auto-fluorescence background, a high chemical stability, and a long fluorescence lifetime. The fluorescent probes based on UCNPs have achieved great success in the analysis of different samples. Here, we presented the research results of UCNPs probes utilized in analytical applications including environment, biology, food and medicine in the last five years; we also introduced the design and construction of upconversion optical sensing platforms.

Quantitative detection of captopril in urine by smartphone-assisted ratiometric fluorescence sensing platform.

Captopril (CP) is a widely used antihypertensive drug. In this study, a smartphone-assisted sensing platform on the basis of ratiometric fluorescent test strips was developed, which can accomplish visualization for the quantitative detection of captopril. Ratiometric fluorescent probe was constructed from carbon dots (CDs) and gold nanoclusters (Au NCs).
