Mulberry leaves (ML) are a promising alternative fodder source due to their high protein content and the abundance of active components. A test of three inoculants in various combinations revealed that high-quality ML silage was produced at an inoculum ratio of 1:1:0 (50% , 50% , and 0% ). Using dry matter (DM) loss, pH, ammonia-N and amino acid contents, total antioxidant activity, and total flavonoids content to evaluate silage quality, this inoculant mixture was shown to produce high-quality silage within a range of inoculum size (5-15%), moisture contents (50-67%), ensiling temperatures (27-30°C), and ensiling duration (14-30 days).

Extra-large-pore zeolites have great application potential in various industrial fields, such as oil refinery, fine chemicals and biomass processing. Herein, we report the synthesis of an extra-large-pore germanosilicate zeolite (named NUD-13) by using an easily obtained aromatic organic cation 1,2-dimethyl-3-propyl-benzimidazolium as organic structure-directing agents. NUD-13 possesses a rare 15-member ring extra-large-pore channel intersecting with two elliptical 12-member ring channels, which is isostructural to germanosilicate zeolite GeZA synthesized by using triphenylsulfonium.

Exposure to solar UV irradiation damages γ-crystallin, leading to cataract formation via aggregation. α-Crystallin, as a small heat shock protein, efficiently suppresses this irreversible aggregation by selectively binding the denatured γ-crystallin monomer. In this study, liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry was used to evaluate UV-325 nm irradiation-induced photodamage of human γD-crystallin in the presence of bovine α-crystallin, atomic force microscope (AFM) and dynamic light scattering (DLS) techniques were used to detect the quaternary structure changes of the α-crystallin oligomer, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and temperature-jump nanosecond time-resolved IR absorbance difference spectroscopy were used to probe the secondary structure changes of bovine α-crystallin.

The impact of the long-term uneven precipitation distribution model on the diversity and community composition of soil C-fixing microorganisms in arid and semiarid grasslands remains unclear. Significant progress has been demonstrated in the development of bifunctional oxide-zeolite catalyst concept to tackle the selectivity challenge in syngas chemistry. Despite general recognition on the importance of defect sites of metal oxides for CO/H activation, the actual structure and catalytic roles are far from being well understood.
