Multidrug and toxic compound extrusion (MATE) proteins are involved in many physiological functions of plant growth and development. Although an increasing number of MATE proteins have been identified, the understanding of MATE proteins is still very limited in rice. In this study, 46 MATE proteins were identified from the rice (Oryza sativa) genome by homology searches and domain prediction.

To identify the floral scent profiles, twenty-seven accessions derived from three bearded iris, including , and were used to investigate the composition and relative contents of floral scent components by headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). A total of 219 floral scent components were detected in blooming flowers.

Objective: To investigate the clinical features of unexpected sudden death (SUD) clustered in families in Yunnan province.
Methods: This retrospective study analyzed the clinical features of SUD occurred between July to September 2005 in 7 families in Yunnan province.
Results: All 16 SUD patients shared common clinical features such as fatigue and repeated syncope and one group of SUD patients (n = 8 from 4 families) presented with the gastric intestinal tract manifestations including nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea with suspected dietary history and abnormal laboratory enzyme findings (GOT/GPT, CK/CKMB, LDH/LDH1 etc.
In the present study, we reported distribution of ER alpha and ER beta mRNAs in the hypothalamus of young and old ovariectomized (OVX) rhesus macaques. The ER alpha were detected in all six major vestiblular nuclei which included arcuate nucleus (ARC) , paraventricularis nucleus (PVN) , periventricular nucleus (PeriV) , supraoptic nucleus (SON) , medial prioptic nucleus (MPN) and lateral hypothalamus area (LHA). However, the ER beta mRNA can also detected in those nuclei excerpt SON, but the signals of ER beta mRNA were weaker than those of ER alpha mRNA.

The local activation of resident cells and efficient recruitment of leukocytes into the central nervous system are critical steps in this inflammatory process. Here we describe studies using flow cytometry to examine the temporal pattern of inflammatory cell activation and infiltration following transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) in mice.
