The high-temperature syngas and molten slag droplets discharged from entrained-flow coal gasifiers contain a large amount of heat energy, which can be efficiently recovered by radiant syngas coolers (RSCs). However, it is hard to know the solidification degree of molten slag droplets at the outlet of an RSC during industrial operations. In this work, the industrial-scale RSC and molten slag droplet models are established to predict the solidification degree of slag droplets at the outlet of the RSC.

Aims: To analyze the effects of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) on mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in vitro and investigate in vivo bone formation by MSC sheets with PRF.
Materials And Methods: Cell proliferation and expression of osteogenesis-related genes within MSC sheets were assessed upon exposure to PRF from the same donors. We then injected MSC sheet fragments with or without PRF subcutaneously in nude mice and assessed bone formation by micro-computed tomography and histological analyses.
In the present study, we determined the effect of infrasonic exposure on apoptosis and intracellular free Ca²⁺ ([Ca²⁺]i) levels in the hippocampus of adult rats. Adult rats were randomly divided into the control and infrasound exposure groups. For infrasound treatment, animals received infrasonic exposure at 90 (8 Hz) or 130 dB (8 Hz) for 2 h per day.

Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were exposed for 2 h daily to infrasound at 8 Hz 90 dB or 130 dB, and NMDAR1 expression was examined on days 1, 7, 14, 21 and 28. The expression of NMDAR1 in the rat hippocampus upon exposure to infrasound at 8 Hz 90 dB sound pressure level (SPL) showed an initial decrease on day 1, an increase on days 7 and 14, a further decrease on day 21, and a return to normal levels on day 28.

Methodology: In our study, the effects and mechanism of electro-acupuncture (EA) at Tsusanli (ST 36), Shangchuhsu (ST 37) on regulation of gastric activity were observed.
Results: EA at Tsusanli showed that gastric electric change was the most obvious, with significantly higher frequency and wave amplitude compared with that of the Shangchuhsu group and other groups.
Objective: To observe the expression of beta-endorphin and micro-opioid receptor (MOR) during wound healing process in rat with deep partial-thickness scald.
Methods: Thirty-six Wistar rats were randomly divided into control( n = 6, without treatment) , and scald ( n = 30, with 5% TBSA deep-partial thickness scald) groups. Skin specimens from wound were harvested immediately after scald and on 3, 7, 14, 21 post-scald days( PSD) for the determination of 1-endorphin and MOR expression with immunofluorescent staining.
Acupuncture at some specific acupoints of Foot Yangming can regulate gastric activity. However, its precise mechanism remains unknown. In our study, the effects and mechanism of electro-acupuncture (EA) at Tsusanli (ST 36), Shangchuhsu (ST 37) on the regulation of gastric activity were observed.

Objective: It has been known that glial line-cell derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) has the nutritional and protective effect in motor neurons. In this experiment, we investigated the character of GDNF mRNA expression in a facial nerve-striking model; combined with other scholars' experimental results; and analyzed what role GDNF plays in the regeneration process of injured motor nerves.
Methods: We established a striking model in rabbit facial nerves with a striking gun with the striking velocity of 10 m/s and the total striking energy of 7.
