Development of a low-cost and biocompatible hydrogel dressing with antimicrobial, antioxidant, and low swelling properties is important for accelerating wound healing. Here, a multifunctional alginate hydrogel dressing was fabricated using the D-(+)-gluconic acid-lactone/CaCOsystem. The addition of hyaluronic acid and tannic acid (TA) provides the alginate hydrogel with anti-reactive oxygen species (ROS), hemostatic, and pro-wound healing properties.

Isothermal experiments were performed in a nitrogen atmosphere at 240, 250, 260 and 270 °C. In addition, the nonisothermal experiments were carried out in nitrogen and air atmospheres from 30 to 600 °C with heating rates of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 °C/min.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIonic liquids (ILs) have been regarded as "designer solvents" because of their satisfactory physicochemical properties. The 5% onset decomposition temperature ( ,) is one of the most conservative but reliable indicators for characterizing the possible fire hazard of engineered ILs. This study is devoted to develop a quantitative structure-property relationship model for predicting the , of binary imidazolium IL mixtures.

Sugar-containing monomer glycosylallylamide (AAG) was synthesized by allyl amine and delta-gluconolactone in dimethylformamide (DMF) solution. The sugar-based hydrogels were prepared by free radical crosslinking copolymerization of AAG and acrylamide (AM). The release properties of Aspirin from xerogels matrices were studied and the release mechanism of Aspirin was further identified by evaluating the n value in Peppas equation.
