Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are effective agents for tumor immunotherapy. However, their clinical effectiveness is unsatisfactory due to off-target effects and a suppressive immune microenvironment. This study developed a nanodrug delivery system for bladder cancer (BCa) using PCL-MPEG and PCL-PEG-CHO to synthesize internal hydrophobic and external hydrophilic micelles (PP) that encapsulated water-insoluble astragaloside IV (PPA).

Background: Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is one of the most common malignancies worldwide, and its development comprises a multistep process from intraepithelial neoplasia (IN) to carcinoma (CA). However, the critical regulators and underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown.
Aim: To explore the genes and infiltrating immune cells in the microenvironment that are associated with the multistage progression of ESCC to facilitate diagnosis and early intervention.
This study aimed to investigate the clinical predictors, including traditional Chinese medicine tongue characteristics and other clinical parameters for chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression (CIM), and then to develop a clinical prediction model and construct a nomogram. A total of 103 patients with lung cancer were prospectively enrolled in this study. All of them were scheduled to receive first-line chemotherapy regimens.

In this study, we aimed to establish a reliable signature based on marker genes in NK cells, thus providing a new perspective for assessing immunotherapy and the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer (GC). We analyzed a total of 1560 samples retrieved from the public database.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFImmune-related genes (IRGs) have attracted attention in recent years as therapeutic targets in various tumors. However, the role of IRGs in gastric cancer (GC) has not been clearly elucidated. This study presents a comprehensive analysis exploring the clinical, molecular, immune, and drug response features characterizing the IRGs in GC.

Characterized by the deficiency of estrogen receptor α, ERα-negative breast cancers are dissociated from any endocrine regimens in the routine clinical setting, triple-negative breast cancer in particular. However, the stereotype was challenged by triple-negative breast cancers' retained sensitivity and vulnerability to endocrine agents.

Prior research suggests that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play a crucial role in the development of HCC. Therefore, it is necessary to identify lncRNA-associated therapeutic biomarkers to improve the accuracy of HCC prognosis.

Background/aim: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common chronic functional bowel disorder and the evidence shows most drug therapies in the treatment of IBS are weak. Recently, some studies showed probiotics may have a positive effect in IBS and they are widely used to improve the symptom of IBS, which indicate probiotics may play an important role in the treatment of IBS. However, the exact effectiveness and safety of probiotics are largely unknown.

Objective: To investigate the mRNA expression of galectin-3 and its clinical significance in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients carrying 1/fusion gene.
Methods: RQ-PCR method was used to detect the expression of galectin-3 mRNA in bone marrow mononuclear cells of 53 AML patients with 1/, ELISA was used to detect the expression of galectin-3 protein in peripheral blood, and the correlations of galectin-3 expression with clinical and laboratory features and outcomes were analyzed.
Results: The mRNA and protein levels of galectin-3 were significantly higher in newly diagnosed 1/ AML patients compared with the control ( <0.
Primary pulmonary diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PPDLBCL) is extremely rare. Its clinical symptoms and signs are nonspe cific, and imaging features also have not yet been well-defined. Further description is important for the diagnosis and treatment of PPDLBCL.

However, little is known about the clinical significance of galectin-3 in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). We investigated the concentration of serum galectin-3 and characterized the relationship between galectin-3 and outcome in patients with APL.

However, little is known about the clinical impact of galectin-3 in non-acute promyelocytic leukemia (non-M3 AML). Peripheral blood of 298 patients with primary non-M3 AML and 30 normal donors was collected for measurement of galectin-3.

The pathogenesis of GIST is associated with the mutational activation of the receptor tyrosine kinase cluster of differentiation (CD)117 or platelet-derived growth factor receptor-α. Overall, ~60% of GISTs occur in the stomach.

BPDCN frequently involves the skin, lymph nodes, peripheral blood and bone marrow. BPDCN is known to develop leukemic dissemination as a feature of myelomonocytic leukemia in the late phase of the disease, which leads to a poorer prognosis.

Although the number of colony-forming units (CFUs) on the hands of health care workers (HCWs) is a critical measurement in research studies of hand contamination, few studies have investigated the correlation between hand area and CFU count. In the present study, we calculated the area and measured the numbers of CFU on the right hand of 197 HCWs. Our data indicate that close relationship between hand area and CFU count.

Methods: Human Ph+ CML leukemia K562 cells, which express endogenous p210 bcr/abl protein, were cultured in RPMI 1640 and treated with berbamine as indicated time and dose. Flow cytometry (FCM) and Annexin-V-Fluos/PI staining kit were used to evaluate the apoptosis of leukemic cells; FCM and cytoperm/cytofix plus Caspase-3-McAb-PE were employed to measure the leukemic cells with activated Caspase-3.
We describe the isolation of Laribacter hongkongensis in Hangzhou City, People's Republic of China. One strain of bacterium, named LHHZ242, had many of the same phenotypic and genotypic characteristics as Laribacter hongkongensis described in previous publications. This discovery proves that Laribacter hongkongensis is also associated with community-acquired gastroenteritis outside Hong Kong.
