Background: Angiogenesis is associated with tumour growth, infiltration, and metastasis. This study aimed to detect the mechanisms of angiogenesis-related genes (ARGs) in multiple myeloma (MM) and to construct a new prognostic model.

Methods: MM research foundation (MMRF)-CoMMpass cohort, GSE47552, GSE57317, and ARGs were sourced from public databases.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to find out the associations of Melatonin receptor 1B () genetic variants with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in Wuhan of central China.

Patients And Methods: A hospital-based case-control study that included 1679 women was carried out to explore the associations of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) with GDM risk, which were analyzed through logistic regression analysis by adjusting age, pre-pregnancy BMI and family history of diabetes. Multifactor dimensionality reduction was applied to determine gene-gene interactions between SNPs.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the association of glucokinase (GCK) gene, glucokinase regulatory protein (GCKR) gene polymorphisms with the susceptibility to GDM in Chinese population.

Research Design And Methods: This case-control study included 835 GDM patients and 870 non-diabetic pregnant women who had their prenatal examinations at 24-28 gestational weeks at the Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Hubei Province from January 15, 2018 to March 31, 2019. The nurses were trained to collect clinical information and blood samples.

Article Synopsis
  • sHLH (Secondary Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis) is a severe inflammatory response often linked to immune system issues, with specific cytokine levels acting as risk factors for early death among patients.
  • The study found that higher levels of IL-17F, IL-10, and IL-5 in the blood are statistically significant death risk factors, particularly IL-17F and IL-10, which remained critical within various time frames post-diagnosis.
  • Additionally, older age (≥56 years) is highlighted as a significant risk factor for mortality within 30 days, emphasizing that monitoring these cytokine levels and age could help predict and manage death risk in sHLH patients.

Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) increased risk of perinatal complications for both the women and the fetuses. The association between the vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene polymorphism and GDM has not been thoroughly investigated in Chinese pregnant women. Therefore, we aimed to determine whether VDR gene single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) rs154410, rs7975232, rs731236, rs2228570 and rs739837 contribute to GDM risk in Wuhan, China.

Objective: To explore the effects and mechanisms of PKC412 inhibitor on proliferation and apoptosis of HL-60 cell line.

Methods: CCK-8 assay was used to detect the effect of PKC412 on the proliferation of HL-60 cells at different concentrations; Wright-Giemsa staining was used to estimated the effect of PKC412 on the apoptosis of HL-60 cells; the mRNA expression of BCL-2 and P53 genes was detected by qRT-PCR, the expression of BCL-2 and P53 proteins was detected by Western blot. HL-60 cells were injected into mouse caudal vein to construct acute myeloid leukemia model, PKC412 was administered to tail vein for 31.

In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of black-footed ferret, Mustela nigripes, is determined for the first time. This mitogenome is 16,556 bp in length and contains 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and 1 control region (D-loop). The overall base composition is A (32.
