This study aimed to evaluate the clinical significance of baseline Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA in recurrent or metastatic primary pulmonary lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma (PLELC). 75 patients with baseline EBV DNA were included. The relationships between baseline EBV DNA and clinical characteristics, survival and objective response rate were analyzed.

Background: Afatinib is a potent, irreversible second-generation epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor which has demonstrated efficacy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients harboring either common or uncommon EGFR mutations. However, data on its activity against brain metastases are limited. This study aimed to retrospectively evaluate the efficacy and safety of afatinib as first-line treatment for EGFR-mutant NSCLC patients with brain metastases.

Background: Primary pulmonary lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma (PLELC) is a rare and unique subtype of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Studies reporting on salvage treatment for pretreated PLELC are limited. Positive interactions between gemcitabine (GEM) and capecitabine (CAP) have been demonstrated in preclinical studies.
