With the progress of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation technology, the reduction of pretreatment intensity, the shortening of bone marrow suppression time and the reduction of infection risk, as well as the prominent physical and psychological stress for doctors and patients caused by rigorous protection procedures, the strategies for protective environment need to be reconsidered. Regardless of whether total environment protection is implemented, there is no significant difference in the outcomes of chemotherapy patients with neutropenia. The advantages and disadvantages of total environment protection have been weighed and reviewed for patients receiving hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Previous research has revealed that heat stress decreases both cholesterol and estradiol content; however, regulation of estradiol by cholesterol and its regulatory mechanism under heat stress are unclear. Mevalonate kinase (MVK), a key cholesterol synthesis pathway enzyme, binds to the luteinizing hormone receptor (LHR; a key gene regulating hormone synthesis) mRNA.

Exercise rehabilitation can improve outcomes for patients after PCI and lower the risk of death and new heart problems, but many patients struggle to stick with their exercise routines. Spouses play a crucial role in supporting patients and helping them stay committed to their rehabilitation.

Presently, there is no fast and reliable serum TT and FT determination method in the field of sport science that can meet the requirements of sports research. Thus, a rapid and accurate determination method for serum TT and FT to fill the gap is needed urgently in sports training.

This study reports the discovery of an enzyme (MTL) for PU plastic degradation from the bacterial strain Mixta tenebrionis BIT-26, isolated from the gut of plastic-eating mealworms. MTL shows significant degradation activity towards three commercial PU substrates, including Impranil®DLN-SD, thermoplastic films (PEGA-HDI), and thermoset foams (PEGA-TDI), by cleaving the ester bonds in the polyester polyol moieties.

However, constructing functionally diverse genetic circuits in host strains is challenging. Especially, functional diversification based on transcriptional repressors has been rarely explored due to the difficulty in inverting their repression properties.

Methods: This study was a mixed-methods, before-and-after study.
Introduction: Hepatitis E (HE), caused by the Hepatitis E virus (HEV), is a significant cause of acute viral hepatitis globally and a major public health concern, particularly in specific high-prevalence areas in China, which have diverse transmission routes and regional differences. Identifying the primary risk factors for HE transmission is essential to develop targeted interventions for vulnerable populations.
Methods: This study employed a 1:1 matched case-control methodology, using a standardized questionnaire complemented by medical records for data validation.
Transcription factor (TF)-based biosensors have arisen as powerful tools in the advancement of metabolic engineering. However, with the emergence of numerous bioproduction targets, the variety of applicable TF-based biosensors remains severely limited. In this study, we investigated and engineered an 1,2-propanediol (1,2-PD)-responsive transcription activator, PocR, from to enrich the current biosensor repertoire.

Microbial cell factories (MCFs) have been leveraged to construct sustainable platforms for value-added compound production. To optimize metabolism and reach optimal productivity, synthetic biology has developed various genetic devices to engineer microbial systems by gene editing, high-throughput protein engineering, and dynamic regulation. However, current synthetic biology methodologies still rely heavily on manual design, laborious testing, and exhaustive analysis.

However, there has been a lack of quantitative assessments that consider long-term, multi-scale grass-livestock balance and its impacts in the region. This study utilized remote sensing and empirical models to assess the theoretical livestock carrying capacity of grasslands.

Thus, we conducted a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to identify the causal association.
Methods: Instrumental variables of childhood obesity were selected from genome-wide association study involving 61,111 Europeans.
Establishing microbial cell factories has become a sustainable and increasingly promising approach for the synthesis of valuable chemicals. However, introducing heterologous pathways into these cell factories can disrupt the endogenous cellular metabolism, leading to suboptimal production performance. To address this challenge, dynamic pathway regulation has been developed and proven effective in improving microbial biosynthesis.

Aqueous ammonium ion hybrid supercapacitor (A-HSC) is an efficient energy storage device based on nonmetallic ion carriers (NH), which combines advantages such as low cost, safety, and sustainability. However, unstable electrode structures are prone to structural collapse in aqueous electrolytes, leading to fast capacitance decay, especially in host materials represented by vanadium-based oxidation. Here, the Co preintercalation strategy is used to stabilize the VO tunnel structure and improve the electrochemical stability of the fast NH storage process.

Background: Systemic inflammation and frailty have been implicated in osteoporosis (OP) and fracture risks; however, existing evidence remains limited and inconclusive. This study aimed to assess the associations of systemic inflammation and frailty phenotype with incident OP and fracture and to evaluate the mediating role of frailty phenotype.
Methods: The present study analysed data from the UK Biobank, a comprehensive and representative dataset encompassing over 500 000 individuals from the general population.
Introduction: The growing prevalence of osteoporosis (OP) in an aging global population presents a significant public health concern. Tobacco smoke negatively affects bone turnover, leading to reduced bone mass and heightened OP and fracture risk. However, the impact of early-life tobacco smoke exposure on later-life OP risk remains unclear.

Despite the advancement of remote sensing in rapid monitoring of AGB on a regional scale, accurately monitoring AGB during the senescence period in vast arid areas remains a major challenge. Using remote sensing, environmental data, and 356 samples of grassland senescence period AGB data, this study utilizes the Gram-Schmidt Pan Sharpening (GS) method, multivariate selection methods, and machine learning algorithms (RF, SVM, and BP_ANN) to construct a model for AGB during senescence grassland, and applies the optimal model to analyze spatio-temporal pattern changes in AGB from 2000 to 2021 in arid regions.
