Background: This study sought to explore the role of cell division cycle-associated protein 4 (CDCA4) in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC) patients.

Methods: The RNA-sequencing raw count data and the respective clinical information of 33 different LIHC cancer and normal tissues were collected from the Genotype Tissue Expression (GTEX) and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) databases. The expression of CDCA4 in LIHC was determined via the University of Alabama at Birmingham Cancer Data Analysis Portal (UALCAN) database.

Article Synopsis
  • Hydraulic fracturing is essential for extracting unconventional oil and gas, requiring precise evaluation of fracture propagation and permeability under real stress conditions.
  • A new device was developed that enables the measurement of permeability in various directions and states before and after hydraulic fracturing, improving the accuracy of these assessments.
  • The study found that this technique accurately evaluates fracture propagation, with a low error rate, leading to better optimization of hydraulic fracturing parameters.

To better understand how supercritical carbon dioxide (CO) enhances shale gas production, it is necessary to study the interaction of supercritical CO with shale and its impact on shale microstructure. The different mechanisms by which supercritical CO changes the shale pore structure were studied by X-ray diffraction analyses, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and low-pressure nitrogen gas adsorption tests on shale samples before and after treatment with different pressures and gases (CO and Ar). The results showed that after treatment with CO, the mineral content of shale changed significantly, and in particular, the proportions of calcite and dolomite decreased.
