Research on the Quantitative Inversion of Soil Iron Oxide Content Using Hyperspectral Remote Sensing and Machine Learning Algorithms in the Lufeng Annular Structural Area of Yunnan, China.

This study used hyperspectral remote sensing to rapidly, economically, and non-destructively determine the soil iron oxide content of the Dinosaur Valley annular tectonic region of Lufeng, Yunnan Province. The laboratory determined the iron oxide content and original spectral reflectance (OR) in 138 surface soil samples. We first subjected the OR data to Savizky-Golay smoothing, followed by four spectral transformations-continuum removal reflectance, reciprocal logarithm reflectance, standard normal variate reflectance, and first-order differential reflectance-which improved the signal-to-noise ratio of the spectral curves and highlighted the spectral features.

Evidence for growing structural correlation length in colloidal supercooled liquids.

Using video microscopy, we measure the long-time diffusion coefficients of colloidal particles at different concentrations. The measured diffusion coefficients start to deviate from theoretical predictions based on random collision models upon entering the supercooled regime. The theoretical diffusion relation is recovered by assigning an effective mass proportional to the size of structurally correlated clusters to the diffusing particles, providing an indirect method to probe the growth of static correlation length scales approaching the glass transition.

Removal of coke powders in coking wastewater using a hydrocyclone optimized by n-value.

Coke powders in the coking wastewater generated by petroleum refining industry needs to be removed to achieve water reuse for lack of water resources. This study developed a decoking hydrocyclone in the closed coking wastewater circulation treatment system to remove coke powders, which was highly efficient and environmentally friendly. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method was carried out to study the tangential velocity distribution index n-value to guide design of decoking hydrocyclone and experiment was conducted to verify the coke powders removal effect.
