Descurainia sophia, as an an ethno-medicinal plant, contains antioxidant compounds that safeguard cellular integrity against various forms of damage and may play a role in cancer prevention. Antioxidant compounds present in this plant facilitate the body's production of new cells and diminish the risk of colon cancer. In recent years, silver nanoparticles synthesized through green methods using ethnomedicinal herbs have been employed in cancers treatment.

However, the severe contraction of these models restricts their application, especially in the analyses based on barrier functions such as percutaneous penetration. For the full-thickness skin equivalents, the mechanical properties of the dermis scaffold plays an important role in the contraction resistance.

This pilot study reported the initial application experience of thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) with a proximal zone 2 landing for aortic arch reconstruction in patients with ILVA.
Methods: This study was a retrospective consecutive single-center case series analysis, which involved four patients with ILVA who required zone 2 anchoring and received TEVAR combined with a single-branched stent graft and concomitant on-table fenestration between March 2021 and December 2022.

Objective: Acute liver and kidney injury is the most common complication after aortic surgery, which seriously affects the survival and safety of perioperative patients. The presence of chronic preoperative liver and renal insufficiency, presence of preoperative blood inflammation indicators, duration of intraoperative extracorporeal circulation, and volume of red blood cell transfusion are the main influencing factors for acute postoperative liver and kidney injuries. In recent years, with the research progress on oxidative stress, a growing body of evidence has demonstrated that oxidative stress may cause tissue damage after ischemia-reperfusion (IR).

Interleukin 17A (IL-17A) is also crucial in regulating tumor progression. Herein, we explored the specific relationships between these two factors and their mechanisms in the progression of LUAD.

Emerging evidence suggests that mitochondrial homeostasis is required for normal heart development. In mitochondria, a series of molecular chaperones including heat shock protein 60 (HSP60) are engaged in assisting the import and folding of mitochondrial proteins.

To discover novel therapeutic targets for AD, the present study was conducted on ascending aorta samples from AD patients versus those from control subjects using proteomic analysis. Integrated proteomic data analysis identified S100 calcium-binding proteins A8 and A9 (S100A8/A9) as new therapeutic targets for AD.

As a common treatment method, coronary artery bypass transplantation surgery can improve heart problems while also causing corresponding complications. Venous graft restenosis is one of the most critical and intractable complications.

We report a case of a 53-year-old male patient who presented to our hospital with a giant left circumflex coronary fistula aneurysm (LCCA) (75 mm × 70 mm). Since coronary angiography and coronary computed tomography angiography failed to detect the fistula of the coronary aneurysm, interventional occlusion surgery could not be performed.

However, most traditional static skin models are constructed on Transwell plates without a dynamic three-dimensional (3D) culture microenvironment. Compared with native human and animal skin, such in vitro skin models are not completely biomimetic, especially regarding their thickness and permeability.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a severe life-threatening disease that is generally asymptomatic and is diagnosed at a very late stage. The genetic component underpinning AAA is considerable, with an estimated heritability of up to 70%. Therefore, identifying genetic biomarkers for AAA is valuable for predicting high-risk populations.

However, there are no reports on the relationship between snoring and the risk of metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). This study aimed to investigate the association between snoring and MAFLD.

An extravascular stent is one wrapped around the vein graft and provides mechanical strength; it can buffer high arterial pressure and secondary vascular dilation of the vein to prevent restenosis. In this study, we developed a novel Nanocellulose-gelatin hydrogel, loaded with the drug Astragaloside IV (AS-IV) as an extravascular scaffold to investigate its ability to reduce restenosis.

To integrate these traits, a variety of methods were used as follows: (1) genetic parameters estimates for composite and individual body conformation traits based on the pedigree relationship matrix (A) and combined genomic-pedigree relationship matrix (H); (2) factor analysis to explore the relationships among body conformation traits; and (3) genetic parameters of factor scores estimated using A and H, and the correlations of EBVs of the factor scores and EBVs of the composite traits. Heritability estimates of the composite traits using A and H were low to medium (0.
