According to the genome analysis, P. stutzeri BBW831 possessed a total of 14 genes (narG, narH, narI, narJ, napA, napB, nirB, nirD, nirS, norB, norC, norD, norQ, and nosZ) responsible for fully functional enzymes (nitrate reductase, nitrite reductase, nitric oxide reductase, and nitrous oxide reductase) involved in the complete aerobic denitrification pathway, suggesting that it had the potential for reducing nitrate to the final N.
