Background: There are positive and negative correlations in different directions between smoking, personality traits, and health-related quality of life (HRQOL), where smoking may mask the pathway between personality traits and HRQOL. Understanding the masking pathway of smoking between personality traits and HRQOL can elucidate the mechanisms of smoking's psychosocial effects and provide new ideas for developing tobacco control strategies.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between Big Five personality traits and HRQOL and whether smoking mediates the relationship between them.

Background: With the advent of a new era for health and medical treatment, characterized by the integration of mobile technology, a significant digital divide has surfaced, particularly in the engagement of older individuals with mobile health (mHealth). The health of a family is intricately connected to the well-being of its members, and the use of media plays a crucial role in facilitating mHealth care. Therefore, it is important to examine the mediating role of media use behavior in the connection between the family health of older individuals and their inclination to use mHealth devices.

Background: Family health develops from the intersection of the health of each family member and their interactions and capacities as well as the family's internal and external resources. Frailty is the most prominent and typical clinical manifestation during population aging. Family health may be effective in addressing frailty, and this association may be mediated by health literacy and health behaviors.

Purpose: The coexistence of multimorbidity and frailty is more likely to increase the risk of physical limitations, mortality and other adverse health outcomes in older adults than their individual occurrence. However, whether and how this coexistence is associated with catastrophic health expenditure (CHE) has not been well assessed. This study aimed to evaluate the independent and coexisting effects of frailty and multimorbidity on CHE.
