Background: Elevated homocysteine (Hcy) levels have been linked to cardiovascular disease (CVD), but their association with cardiometabolic multimorbidity (CMM) remains uncertain.
Methods: Data from the baseline survey of the China Northwest Cohort-Ningxia Project (CNC-NX) were used to recruit 22,566 participants. Demographic characteristics, lifestyle factors, and laboratory exam results were collected.
Background: Ticks carry and transmit a wide range of pathogens (bacteria, viruses, and protozoa) that pose significant threats to human and animal health worldwide. Only few meta-analyses have been conducted on the distribution of ticks and tick-borne spotted fever group rickettsia (SFGR). Therefore, this study aims to examine the tick species and SFGR positivity in China in order to provide support for further research and improvements in the prevention and control of tick-borne diseases.

In the last 40 years, there has been a notable rise in the occurrence of diabetes within China, leading to the country now having the highest number of individuals affected by this condition globally. This prospective observational study examined the effect of different baseline relative leukocyte telomere length (RTL) and the combined effect of baseline RTL and plasma phospholipid fatty acid (PPFA) on the risk of developing diabetes. Methods: Based on CGSS data from China General Social Survey (2017), the influencing factors of health status of older adults living alone were analyzed by unconditional Logistic regression, and the R software was used to develop a nomogram for predicting the risk of self-assessed unhealthy adverse outcomes.
Results: Gender, annual income, mandarin listening level and participation in medical insurance were the influencing factors of self-rated health of older adults living alone.

Methods: Using a 10-year longitudinal follow-up study, we examined changes in housing conditions, cooking fuel use, and HRQOL among 690 Chinese adults aged 45 above in rural areas. HRQOL was assessed using the European Quality of Life-5 Dimensions 3 Levels (EQ-5D-3L) questionnaire.
Cardiovascular risk models developed may have limitations when applied to rural Chinese. This study validated and compared the Framingham Risk Score (FRS) and Prediction for Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Risk in China (PAR) models in predicting 10-year risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) in a rural cohort in Ningxia, China from 2008 to 2019. The FRS and PAR models were validated by estimating predicted events, C index, calibration and plots.

Background: The impact of heavy metal exposure on human health has attracted widespread attention of researchers, and the impact of heavy metal exposure on liver function has also been confirmed, however, more attention is paid to the impact of single or two heavy metal exposures, and most epidemiological studies focus on heavy metal pollution areas. In this study, rural residents in non-heavy metal-contaminated areas in Northwest China were selected as the research objects to explore the comprehensive effects of co-exposure to multiple heavy metals on the liver, which can provide certain reference and support for related research.
