Novel Co/NC heterogeneous catalysts were prepared by simply employing self-made Co/Zn-ZIF (zeolitic imidazolate framework) through pyrolysis. The samples were characterized by XRD, XPS, Raman, TEM and BET, and were successfully applied in a cyclopropanation reaction with a yield of 85%. Furthermore, this one-pot synthesized catalyst could be recycled several times without apparent deactivation.

S100 calcium-binding protein A4 (S100A4) has tumorigenic properties; therefore, the present study investigated the impact of S100A4 on UM cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and invasion using bioinformatics and in vitro experiments.
Methods: Bioinformatic analysis was used to screen S100A4 as a hub gene and predict its possible mechanism in UM cells, and the S100A4 silencing cell line was constructed.

Hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) compounds are environmental and occupational lung carcinogens. The present study followed the chronic effect of Cr(VI) on the neoplastic transformation of BEAS-2B lung bronchial epithelial cells with or without deletion of Gene 33 (Mig6, EFFRI1), a multifunctional adaptor protein. We find that Gene 33-deleted cells exhibit increased anchorage-independent growth compared to control cells after transformed by 8-week but not 24-week Cr(VI) exposure.

An aerobic denitrifying bacterium, designated as strain CPY4, was isolated from activated sludge treating urban sewage under alternating aerobic/anaerobic conditions by an enrichment culture technique.
