Seed vigor significantly affects peanut breeding and agricultural yield by influencing seed germination and seedling growth and development. Traditional vigor testing methods are inadequate for modern high-throughput assays. Although hyperspectral technology shows potential for monitoring various crop traits, its application in predicting peanut seed vigor is still limited.

A simple and efficient synthetic approach to 2-amino-9-chromeno[2,3-]thiazol-9-ones copper-promoted cascade reactions was developed. The reaction employed easily available 2-amino-3-iodochromones and amines as substrates and the targeting tricyclic compounds could be obtained with moderate to good yields. Even more important, several synthesized compounds exhibited potent anti-inflammatory activities, which suggested that this protocol may provide valuable hits for drug development in the future.

Metal nanoparticles and microplastics are becoming important pollutants in agricultural fields, but there are few studies on the interaction of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) and polyethylene (PE) microplastics with rice seedlings. The two rice cultivars Xiangyaxiangzhan and Yuxiangyouzhan were grown at three ZnONP levels (0 mg L, 50 mg L, and 500 mg L) and three PE levels (0 mg L, 250 mg L, and 500 mg L), and the growth, physiological attributes, and Zn uptake of rice seedlings were measured. Result showed that the ZnONPs and PE treatment effects on the investigated parameters differed between the cultivars, whilst Yuxiangyouzhan produced 6.

The effect of light and water on aromatic rice remain largely unclear. A pot experiment was conducted to investigate the influences of light-water treatments (CK: natural light and well-watered conditions, WS: natural light and water-stressed conditions, LL: low light and well-watered conditions, LL-WS: low light and water-stressed treatment) on yield and 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline (2AP) formation in aromatic rice. Compared with CK, the light-water treatments decreased grain yield (10.

The high moisture content of wet sewage sludge generated from wastewater treatment process not only brings high cost of sewage disposal, but also limits its utilization as resource. In this study, an efficient strategy of directly utilizing wet sludge to develop advanced carbocatalyst via a hydrothermal coupled pyrolysis process was proposed. The possible application of as-synthesized carbocatalyst was evaluated by activating peroxymonosulfate (PMS) to degrade a model pollutant of sulfamethoxazole (SMX).
