Background And Aim: The use of acupuncture is becoming increasingly popular in the management of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This systematic review consolidates evidence on acupuncture's efficacy and safety for treating ADHD in children and adolescents.
Methods: Controlled clinical trials assessing acupuncture against waitlist-control, placebo or active controls, or as an adjunct treatment were systematically searched across seven databases from inception to November 2024.
Some microbes are referred to as model organisms because they are easy to study in the laboratory and hold the ability to retain their characteristics during DNA replication, DNA transcription, and other fundamental processes. Studying these microbes in living cells via single-molecule imaging allows us to better understand these processes at highly improved spatiotemporal resolution. Single particle tracking photoactivated localization microscopy (sptPALM) is a robust tool for detecting the positions and motions of individual molecules with tens of nanometers of spatial and millisecond temporal resolution , providing insights into intricate intracellular environments that traditional ensemble methods cannot.

We herein report the synthesis of a multifaceted photosensitizer, PPQ-CTPA, which exhibits exceptional efficacy in generating Type I reactive oxygen species (ROS) and thermal energy under near-infrared-II (NIR-II, >1000 nm) laser excitation at 1064 nm, thereby combining photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photothermal therapy (PTT) functionalities. To enhance therapeutic efficacy, we engineered lonidamine (LND) by conjugating it with triphenylphosphonium (TPP) cations, producing LND-TPP.

However, these confront challenges such as the limited osteoinductive properties, environmental concerns, and ambiguous calcification mechanisms in coral proteins. In this study, the role of the recombinant coral protein galaxin in promoting osteogenesis is investigated.

By employing photothermal agents to selectively generate heat and target cancer cells, PTT has emerged as a promising cancer treatment strategy. Notably, therapies conducted in the second near-infrared (NIR-II) window exhibit superior therapeutic outcomes, owing to deeper tissue penetration and reduced light scattering.

However, the deformation of the aligner created by the virtual movement of one tooth may affect the actual movement of other teeth. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of the amount of canine movement on the responses of incisors and posterior teeth during maxillary anterior en-masse retraction with clear aligner.

We aim to evaluate the potential of the new TB vaccine, Vaccae, to enhance TB control by integrating with active case finding (ACF) strategies in these regions.
Methods: Using age-structured dynamic models, we projected the epidemiological and economic outcomes of combining Vaccae vaccination with ACF over 27 years.

Mammalian epididymal epithelial cells are crucial for sperm maturation. Historically, vacuole-like ultrastructures in epididymal epithelial cells were observed via transmission electron microscopy but were undefined. Here, we utilize volume electron microscopy (vEM) to generate 3D reconstructions of epididymal epithelial cells and identify these vacuoles as intercellular organelle reservoirs (IORs) in the lateral intercellular space (LIS), which contains protein aggregates, autophagosomes, lysosome-related organelles and mitochondrial residues.

In recent years, the CRISPR/Cas technology has demonstrated significant potential in detecting non-nucleic acids. Herein, we present a triple enzyme-assisted fluorescence immunoassay (TEFIA) that integrates alkaline phosphatase (ALP)-regulated DNAzyme cleavage with the CRISPR/Cas12a assay for the accurate detection of mycotoxin.

Recent studies have suggested that the gut microbiota, particularly probiotics like lactic acid bacteria, may play a significant role in the prevention and treatment of cholesterol gallstones. This study aims to optimize the cholesterol gallstone model in C57BL/6 mice and evaluate the effects of Lactobacillus intervention on gallstone formation induced by a high-fat diet.

Here, we report that the balance between DNA methylation and demethylation ensures the maintenance of a single MMC in Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana). Surprisingly, a decrease or an increase of all 3 DNA methylation types (mCG, mCHG, and mCHH) caused abnormal enlargement of MMC-like cells and re-balancing DNA methylation rescued the enlarged MMC-like cells in the mutants of regulators for DNA methylation and demethylation.

By leveraging the frequency sensitivity of intermodal dispersion in MMFs, we achieve high-dimensional semantic encoding and decoding in the frequency domain. Our system maps symbols to 128 distinct frequencies spaced at 600 kHz intervals, demonstrating a seven-fold increase in capacity compared to conventional communication encoding.

DUO1, a R2R3 Myb transcription factor, is activated in the generative cell to promote S-G2/M transition during PMII. Loss-of-function of DUO1 caused a complete arrest of PMII.

In this work, we designed and synthesized two novel host-guest crown ether molecules [(PTFMA)(15-crown-5)ClO] (1) and [(PTFMA)(15-crown-5)PF] (2), through the reaction of -trifluoromethylaniline (PTFMA) with 15-crown-5 in perchloric acid or hexafluorophosphoric acid aqueous solution. Compound 1 undergoes a structural change from the non-centrosymmetric space group (2) to the centrosymmetric space group (2/) with increasing temperature.

The lipid metabolism dysregulation promotes M1 macrophage polarization by coordinating the compensatory pathways of the inflammatory and oxidative stress responses. This study aims to investigate the relationship between serum ADA levels and risk of diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), providing a clinical basis for the prevention and treatment of DFU.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 2 719 T2DM patients diagnosed at the Southwest Hospital of Army Medical University from January 2019 to January 2020.
Introduction: Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) poses a significant therapeutic challenge, primarily due to delayed diagnosis and the limited efficacy of existing treatments.
Methods: To understand the pathogenesis and identify diagnostic biomarkers for LUAD in the early stage, we investigated differential miRNA expression in 33 stage I LUAD patients between tumor and matched paracancerous tissues by Illumina Sequencing. Target genes of differentially expressed miRNAs were predicted using TargetScan and miRDB databases and further analyzed by GO and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis.
