Background: Epigenetic modifications have been proved to play important roles in the spinal degenerative diseases. As a type of noncoding RNA, the microRNA (miRNA) is a vital class of regulatory factor in the epigenetic modifications, while the role of miRNAs in the regulation of epigenetic modifications in ligamentum flavum hypertrophy (LFH) has not been fully investigated.
Methods: The miRNA sequencing analysis was used to explore the change of miRNA expression during the fibrosis of ligamentum flavum (LF) cells caused by the TGF-β1 (10 ng/ml).
Metabolic reprogramming is a hallmark of cancer. The"Warburg effect", also known as aerobic glycolysis, is an essential part of metabolic reprogramming and a central contributor to cancer progression. Moreover, hypoxia is one of the significant features of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).

Current interface reconstruction approaches including pH modulation and bioenzyme cleavage involve biohazardous and time-consuming operations, which cannot meet the demand for rapid, eco-friendly, and portable detection, which are detrimental to the development of multiplex PEC sensors toward portability. Herein, we report a pioneer work on IR-driven "four-to-one" multisignal conditioning to facile reconfigure electrode interface for multitarget detection via photoelectrochemical/photothermal dual mode.

Vinylene-linked Covalent Organic Frameworks (V-2D-COFs) are a class of promising porous organic materials that feature fully π-conjugated structures, high crystallinity, ultrahigh chemical stability, and extraordinary optoelectronic properties. However, the types of reactions and the availability of monomers for synthesizing linked COFs are considerably limited by the irreversibility of the C═C bond, and the complete π-conjugated structure restricts their in-depth research in hydrophilicity, membrane materials, and proton conductivity. Postsynthetic modification (PSM), which can avoid these problems by incorporating functional moieties into the predetermined framework, provides an alternative way to construct diverse V-2D-COFs.

The IP consists of 3 inducible β subunits (β1i - LMP2, β2i - MECL1, and β5i - LMP7), which generate MHC-I compatible peptides. IPs are induced by pro-inflammatory cytokine signaling, as well as oxidative stress signaling.

Dysregulation of the UPS has been linked to neurodegeneration through two hallmarks, pathogenic protein aggregation and aberrant proteostasis. However, the molecular changes that alter proteasome functioning in AD are poorly understood.

Method: An individual-level Regional Radiomics Similarity Network (R2SN) for 487 patients with AD continuum (376 with NPSs vs. 111 without NPSs) were developed to find the R2SN connections associated with NPSs and refine the subtypes of NPS in the AD continuum.
We report the precise measurements of the cross section of e^{+}e^{-}→hadrons at center-of-mass energies from 3.645 to 3.871 GeV.

However, the current TERS strategies lack the ability to excite the low-background inhomogeneous electromagnetic field with significant enhancement of electric field, electric field gradient, and optomagnetic field, simultaneously. To overcome this, we developed a fiber vector light-field-based TERS strategy aimed at exploring the multipole Raman scattering processes of molecules.

Nevertheless, the association between LLPS and the prognosis, as well as the tumor immune microenvironment, in individuals with colon cancer remains poorly understood.
Methods: We conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the LLPS cluster in 1010 colon cancer samples from the TCGA and GEO databases, utilizing the expression profiles of LLPS-related prognostic differentially expressed genes (DEGs).
The application of high-voltage positive electrode materials in sulfide all-solid-state lithium batteries is hindered by the limited oxidation potential of sulfide-based solid-state electrolytes (SSEs). Consequently, surface coating on positive electrode materials is widely applied to alleviate detrimental interfacial reactions. However, most coating layers also react with sulfide-based SSEs, generating electronic conductors and causing gradual interface degradation and capacity fading.

However, the issues of intrinsic poor electronic conductivity and difficult high-purity preparation may impede its practical application. Herein, the pivotal role of Cu doping in strengthening the polyanion structure and improving its electrochemical properties is comprehensively investigated.

The role of retinoic acid receptor gamma (RARγ) and its isoforms in HNC is yet to be established. In this study, we found that RARγ1, 2, 4 are the predominant RARγ isoforms expressed in various types of human cancers, including HNC.

It explores the impact of the dynamic relationships between different anatomical landmarks and the tumor on the resection rate and tumor progression/recurrence during the endoscopic endonasal approach (EEA).
Methods: A single-center institutional database review was conducted, identifying patients with PAs treated with EEA from December 2018 to January 2023.
Sepsis-induced thrombocytopenia (SIT) is a widely accepted predictor of poor prognosis during sepsis, while the mechanism of SIT remains elusive. In this study, we revealed that SIT patients and septic mice exhibited higher levels of pro-inflammatory macrophages and phosphorylated BTK (p-BTK) expression in macrophages, which were closely correlated with platelet counts. Treatment with the BTK inhibitor, BGB-3111 in SIT mice resulted in enhanced production of megakaryocytes and platelets.

Suboptimal spatial utilization and inefficient access to internal porosity preclude porous carbon cathodes from delivering high energy density in zinc-ion hybrid capacitors (ZIHCs). Inspired by the function of capillaries in biological systems, this study proposes a facile coordination-pyrolysis method to fabricate thin-walled hollow carbon nanofibers (CNFs) with optimized pore structure and surface functional groups for ZHICs. The capillary-like CNFs maximize the electrode/electrolyte interface area, facilitating the optimal utilization of energy storage sites.

Background: It remains unclear whether the addition of non-selective beta-blockers (NSBB) provides further benefit after combined use of tissue adhesive and endoscopic variceal ligation for bleeding gastroesophageal varices.
Objective: This is the first cohort study comparing the secondary prophylactic efficacy of adding NSBB to combined endoscopic treatment in cirrhotic patients with gastric varices (without inclusion of isolated gastric varices [IGVs], which are rare in patients with cirrhosis without splanchnic thrombosis).
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed two matched large cohorts of cirrhotic patients with gastric varices who received combined endoscopic treatment and were assigned to receive NSBB treatment or not as secondary prophylaxis.
