Background: A consensus on effectively measuring facial fat volume by computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging is lacking. This study aimed to assess the validity and reproducibility of a new CT-based method for measuring facial fat volume.
Methods: Volume was measured using a new semiautomatic segmentation method.
Background: Tumor-associated neutrophils (TANs) are important components of the colorectal cancer (CRC) microenvironment. However, their role in CRC remains controversial. This study aimed to assess the prognostic value of TANs in patients with CRC.

However, studies involving GSC-derived exosomal circular RNAs (GDE-circRNAs) in regulating tumor microenvironment (TME) remain unknown. Here, we comprehensively evaluated the significance of a novel immune-related GDE-circRNA in glioma microenvironment.

Background: Facial sunken deformities, congenital or acquired, are common in clinical practice for the reduction of soft or hard tissues. In clinical practice, filler injection and tissue transplantation are often used to improve facial contour. Among these, autologous fat grafting for treating facial contour defects is most common in clinical practice.

Conventional methods of isolating EVs are often marred by lengthy and laborious processes. In this study, we introduce an innovative approach to enrich and isolate EVs by leveraging the capabilities of DNA nanotechnology.

However, effective strategies against these injuries remain scarce. In this study, the type 2 diabetes mouse model was established by high-fat diet combined with streptozotocin injection in Rnd3 endothelial- specific transgenic and knockout mice.

However, Doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity (DIC) presents a significant challenge in its clinical application. Mitochondrial dysfunction plays a central role in DIC, primarily through disrupting mitochondrial dynamics.

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of high mortality in individuals with diabetes mellitus. Endothelial injury is a major contributing factor for vascular dysfunction in diabetes. However, the precise mechanisms underlying endothelial cell injury and their heterogeneity in diabetes remains elusive.

Herein, we report four cases of ELS with torsion that presented with abdominal pain, and further review the relevant literature to summarize the clinical features.
Case Summary: Four children presented to our department with abdominal pain.

Background: There is no consensus regarding age-related facial anatomical changes. In this study, aging-related changes in soft and hard cheek tissues were quantitatively analyzed using computed tomography.
Methods: We performed a retrospective study of 90 Asian females who underwent facial computed tomography.
Clinically, open wounds caused by accidental trauma and surgical lesion resection are easily infected by external bacteria, hindering wound healing. Antibacterial photodynamic therapy has become a promising treatment strategy for wound infection. In this study, a novel antibacterial nanocomposite material (QMC NPs) was synthesized by curcumin, quaternized chitosan and mesoporous polydopamine nanoparticles.

Thus, identification of inhibitors for TNF-induced cell death has broad therapeutic relevance for TNF-related inflammatory diseases. In the present study, we isolated and identified a marine fungus-derived sesquiterpenoid, 9α,14-dihydroxy-6β-p-nitrobenzoylcinnamolide (named as Cpd-8), that inhibits TNF receptor superfamily-induced cell death by preventing the formation of cytosolic death complex II.

However, low signal intensity and high background noise are complications that arise from diagnostic pathology when performed with smFISH-based RNA imaging in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue specimens. Moreover, the associated complex procedures can produce uncertain results and poor image quality.

However, it is difficult to retrieve adequate lymph nodes because of various factors. We aimed to evaluate the association between the number of retrieved lymph nodes and demographic/tumour-related characteristics in colorectal cancer.

In this paper, a well-balanced regularized lattice Boltzmann (WB-RLB) model with Hermite expansion up to third order is developed for two-phase flows. To this end, the equilibrium distribution function and the modified force term proposed by Guo [Phys.

Besides structural and effector proteins, many other proteins, such as adaptors, co-effectors and accessory proteins, are involved in this process. MIX domains can assist in the delivery of T6SS effectors when encoded as a stand-alone gene or fused at the N-terminal of the effector.

This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the prognostic value of IL-36s in different cancer types.

Assessing heavy metal bioavailability and toxicity during bioprocess is critical for advancing green biotechnology. The capability of whole-cell bioreporters to measure heavy metal bioavailability has been increasingly recognized. The advantages of this technology being applied to bioprocess monitoring are less studied.

Emerging evidence has suggested that Rho GTPase Rnd3 plays an indisputable role in cardiovascular diseases, although its function in atherosclerosis remains unclear. Here, we found a significant correlation between Rnd3 and pyroptosis of aortic endothelial cells (ECs).

However, the low solubility, poor stability, and rapid metabolism of curcumin make its bioavailability low, which affects its development and application. As a unique biopolymer structure, protein-polysaccharide (PRO-POL)-based delivery system has the advantages of low toxicity, biocompatibility, biodegradability, and delayed release.

However, particular mechanism leading to diabetic coronary microvascular hyperpermeability remains elusive.
Methods: Experimental diabetes was induced in mice with adipose tissue-specific Adipsin overexpression (Adipsin-Cre) and their respective control (Adipsin).
