The objective of this study was to provide a descriptive analysis of the clinical outcomes achieved in oocyte vitrification in cases where sperm was unavailable on oocyte retrieval day, and to identify predictors of oocyte survival. This retrospective cohort study used data from a university-affiliated reproductive medical center. There were 321 cycles in which some of, or all oocytes were vitrified owing to the unavailability of sperm between March 2009 and October 2017.

Increased phosphorylation of hepatic p38 has long been noticed in fatty liver; however, whether the activation of hepatic p38 is a cause or consequence of liver steatosis is unclear. Here, we demonstrate that hepatic p38 activation by MKK6 overexpression in the liver of mice induces severe liver steatosis, reduces fat mass, and elevates circulating fatty acid levels in a hepatic p38α- and FGF21-dependent manner.

A fixed-time trajectory tracking control method for uncertain robotic manipulators with input saturation based on reinforcement learning (RL) is studied. The designed RL control algorithm is implemented by a radial basis function (RBF) neural network (NN), in which the actor NN is used to generate the control strategy and the critic NN is used to evaluate the execution cost. A new nonsingular fast terminal sliding mode technique is used to ensure the convergence of tracking error in fixed time, and the upper bound of convergence time is estimated.

Task-free attention has gained intensive interest in the computer vision community while relatively few works focus on task-driven attention (TDAttention). Thus this paper handles the problem of TDAttention prediction in daily scenarios where a human is doing a task. Motivated by the cognition mechanism that human attention allocation is jointly controlled by the top-down guidance and bottom-up stimulus, this paper proposes a cognitively-explanatory deep neural network model to predict TDAttention.

Background: End-of-life care attracts major policy interest. Place of death is an important metric of individual experience and health system performance. Most people prefer to die at home, but hospital is the most common place of death in high-income countries.

Methods: T2-weighted fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (T2-FLAIR) imaging, diffusion-weighted MRI and diffusion kurtosis imaging were retrospectively collected for 139 glioma cases (2 with grade I, 67 with grade II, 36 with grade III and 34 with grade IV disease). Multi-parameter maps, including the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), mean diffusion coefficient (Dmean), fractional anisotropy (FA), and mean kurtosis (MK), were co-registered to T2-FLAIR, and 431 radiomics features for each were extracted within manually segmented tumour regions.
Therapies for lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) are mainly limited by drug resistance, metastasis or recurrence related to cancer stem cells (CSCs) with high proliferation and self-renewing. This research validated that miR-31 was over-expressed in LUAD by the analysis of generous clinical samples data. And the results of clinical data analysis showed that high expression of miR-31 was more common in patients with worse prognosis.

The present study aims to investigate the effects of the main components(aesculin, berberine hydrochloride, and anemoside B4) in the butyl alcohol extract of Baitouweng Decoction(BAEB) on the chemotaxis of neutrophils induced by dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO). HL60 cells were cultivated in RPMI-1640 complete medium, and transferred into a 6-well plate(2 × 10~5 per mL) with 4 mL in each well, followed by incubation with DMSO at 1.3% for five days.

Case Presentation: A 19-year-old nulliparous woman presented to the emergency department under sedation due to seizures. Imaging examination revealed cerebral venous thrombosis.
This work reports the design of a wavelength sensor composed of two identical perovskite (FA Cs PbI ) photodetectors (PDs) that are capable of discriminating incident wavelength in a quantitative way. Due to strong wavelength-dependent absorption coefficient, the penetration depth of the photons in the FA Cs PbI nanofilms increases with the increasing wavelength, leading to a gradual decrease of photo-generated current for PD1, but an increase of photocurrent in PD2, according to the theoretical simulation of Technology Computer Aided Design. This special evolution of photo-generated current as a function of wavelength facilitates the quantitative determination of the wavelength since the current ratio of both PDs monotonously decreases with the increase of wavelength from 265 to 810 nm.

Whether and how microRNAs are involved in the substrate selection for oxidation is largely unknown. Here we show that mice lacking miR-183 and miR-96 have enhanced muscle oxidative phenotype and altered glucose/lipid homeostasis.

Current research studies of mTCS mainly focused on the environmental persistence and bioaccumulation potential. Knowledge regarding the toxicity and carcinogenicity of mTCS is limited until now.

Contrastingly, imported malaria cases are still being reported, indicating a disease reintroduction risk after years of elimination. A good surveillance system is key for avoiding the risk, detecting imported cases and possible cases associated with local transmission early.

However, anti-fibrotic therapies have been unsuccessful so far. The biological functions and molecular mechanisms of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in the host immune system during chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, especially in fibrosis, are still largely unknown.

Accordingly, the extract of (RAP99) is used as a health supplement for humans and animals in Japan to regulate immune responses . We previously analyzed the LPS structure of RAP99 (RAP99-LPS) and found it is different from that of -LPS but similar to lipid A from (RSLA), a known antagonist of TLR4, with both having three C14 fatty acyl groups, two C10 fatty acyl groups, and two phosphates.

Objective: To introduce an anterior surgical technique for myelopathy caused by degenerative cervical kyphosis and stenosis (DCKS) with or without ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL).
Summary Of Background Data: The optimal approach in the treatment of DCKS remains a controversy because each anterior or posterior route surgery has advantages and disadvantages.
Sjögren's syndrome (SS) is an autoimmune disease characterized by inflammation with lymphoid infiltration and destruction of the salivary glands. Although many genome-wide association studies have revealed disease-associated risk alleles, the functions of the majority of these alleles are unclear. Here, we show previously unrecognized roles of GTF2I molecules by using two SS-associated single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), rs73366469 and rs117026326 (GTF2I SNPs).

However, the low PMS activation efficiency associated with the valency conversion rate of transition metals has been a major challenge to sulfate radical-based oxidation. In this work, manganese cobaltate (MnCoO) nanoparticles anchored on graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN) flakes (MnCoO/g-CN) were successfully prepared and showed high PMS activation efficiency under visible (Vis) light.

To achieve this, the present study advocates megacities to implement a two-tier synergic governance system consisting of both synergic governance between GHG and air pollutant emission reductions and between megacities and their surrounding regions. Based on the LEAP model and WRF-SMOKE-CMAQ simulation platform, this study found that climate governance of China's megacity, Shenzhen, could synergistically contribute to decreasing urban annual PM concentration by 5.
