Article Synopsis
  • - The study explores how lime treatment affects the compressibility of soil slurries with high water content, which is important for engineering applications involving soft ground.
  • - Conducted in Southeast China, the research included sixty oedometer tests on lime-treated soils with varying water and lime contents to analyze their deformation properties.
  • - Findings indicate a unique relationship between void ratio, lime content, and initial water content, leading to the establishment of a modified compression index prediction method and a standardized compression curve for certain lime-treated soils.

The purpose of this study was to introduce a modified suture technique and to compare its effects on skin scar formation with 2 traditional suture methods: simple interrupted suture (SIS) and vertical mattress suture (VMS). Three groups of healthy adult female Sprague-Dawley rats were selected (6 replicates in each group), and the full-thickness skin of 5 cm × 0.2 cm was cut off on the back of the rats after anesthesia.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aims to explore the vascular anatomy and clinical use of type III perforator flaps, specifically the oblique branch of the lateral circumflex femoral artery, for treating skin soft tissue defects in the limbs.
  • The research involved analyzing a cadaver and reviewing clinical cases of 12 patients with limb injuries, examining the flaps used for wound repair and their outcomes.
  • Results showed successful flap survival with all wounds healing properly and no vascular complications, indicating that this technique can be effective for soft tissue reconstruction in the extremities.
