Serpentine microstructures offer excellent physical properties, making them highly promising in applications in stretchable electronics and tissue engineering. However, existing fabrication methods, such as electrospinning and lithography, face significant challenges in producing microscale serpentine structures that are cost-effective, efficient, and controllable. These methods often struggle with achieving precise control over fiber morphology and scalability.

This study aimed to investigate the effect of Fuzheng Yiai Decoction (FZYA) on epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI) drug resistance in lung adenosquamous carcinoma (ASC). The expression of thyroid transcription factor 1 (TTF1) and p63 in tumor cells was observed by immunofluorescence staining. Meanwhile, 25 nude mice successfully inoculated with the human lung ASC cell line NCI-H596 were randomly divided into five groups, namely, the model, gefitinib, low-, medium-, and high-dose FZYA with gefitinib groups.

The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of differentially expressed miR-8485 on chondrocyte inflammation in osteoarthritis (OA) and its underlying pathological mechanisms. MiR-8485, which was downregulated in OA, was identified by microarray analysis, and was also found to be decreased in IL-1β-induced C28/I2 cells. miR-8485 down-regulation or IL-1β treated of C28/I2 cells induces a decrease in cellular activity, an increase in apoptosis, an elevation in Cleaved caspase-3, MMP13, and ADAMTS5 protein levels, a decrease in Collagen II and Aggrecan levels, and an increase in the levels of pro-inflammatory factors TNF-α and IL-6.

In this paper, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a high rate-distance product visible light communication (VLC) system based on nonlinearity-adaptive hybrid probabilistic-geometric constellation shaping (NA-HCS) for multi-kilometer free space transmission. A pairwise optimization algorithm is employed within the probabilistic shaping (PS) to achieve NA-HCS for constellation according to the pre-estimated signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the long-distance nonlinear channel, which proves its efficacy in channel capacity optimization. Using a modified physical free space optical communication equivalent link, the QAM based on NA-HCS technology can flexibly control the net data rate (NDR) to accommodate different intensities of nonlinear impairment within 1 km transmission channel, consistently outperforming PS-APSK and PS-QAM.

As a lipophilic antioxidant, coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) has limited application owing to its low water solubility and instability. In the present study, potato protein (PP) and soybean soluble polysaccharide (SSPS) were used as carriers to prepare a multilayer SSPS-PP-CoQ10 nano-emulsion using the reversed-phase emulsification method; further, the water solubility, stability, and formation mechanism of the nano-emulsion were analyzed. The results showed that the particle size of SSPS-PP-CoQ10 nano-emulsions was 253-422 nm with good polydispersity.

The photon-counting light laser detection and ranging (LiDAR), especially the Geiger mode avalanche photon diode (Gm-APD) LiDAR, can obtain three-dimensional images of the scene, with the characteristics of single-photon sensitivity, but the background noise limits the imaging quality of the laser radar. In order to solve this problem, a depth image estimation method based on a two-dimensional (2D) Kaniadakis entropy thresholding method is proposed which transforms a weak signal extraction problem into a denoising problem for point cloud data. The characteristics of signal peak aggregation in the data and the spatio-temporal correlation features between target image elements in the point cloud-intensity data are exploited.

We previously reported that the peptide ST2-104 (CBD3, for Ca2+ channel-binding domain 3), derived from the collapsin response mediator protein 2 (CRMP2)-a cytosolic phosphoprotein, protects neuroblastoma cells against β-amyloid (Aβ) peptide-mediated toxicity through engagement of a phosphorylated CRMP2/NMDAR pathway. Abnormal aggregation of Aβ peptides (e.g.

Accurate identification of the correct, biologically relevant RNA structures is critical to understanding various aspects of RNA biology since proper folding represents the key to the functionality of all types of RNA molecules and plays pivotal roles in many essential biological processes. Thus, a plethora of approaches have been developed to predict, identify, or solve RNA structures based on various computational, molecular, genetic, chemical, or physicochemical strategies. Purely computational approaches hold distinct advantages over all other strategies in terms of the ease of implementation, time, speed, cost, and throughput, but they strongly underperform in terms of accuracy that significantly limits their broader application.

With the continuous increase in train running speeds and the rapid complexity of operation environments, running stability of the high-speed train is facing significant challenges. A series of abnormal vibration issues, caused by hunting instability, have emerged, including bogie instability alarm, carbody swaying, and carbody shaking, posing a significant threat to the safe and stable operation of high-speed trains. Therefore, the monitoring and diagnosis of hunting instability have become important research topics in rail transit.

X-ray diffraction crystallography has been most widely used for protein three-dimensional (3D) structure determination for which whether proteins are crystallizable is a central prerequisite. Yet, there are a number of procedures during protein crystallization, including protein material production, purification, and crystal production, which take turns affecting the crystallization outcome. Due to the expensive and laborious nature of this multi-stage process, various computational tools have been developed to predict protein crystallization propensity, which is then used to guide the experimental determination.

Piezoelectric effect produces an electrical signal when stress is applied to the bone. When the integrity of the bone is destroyed, the biopotential within the defect site is reduced and several physiological responses are initiated to facilitate healing. During the healing of the bone defect, the bioelectric potential returns to normal levels.

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death worldwide, with acute myocardial infarction and anticancer drug-induced cardiotoxicity being the significant factors. The most effective treatment for acute myocardial infarction is rapid restoration of coronary blood flow by thrombolytic therapy or percutaneous coronary intervention. However, myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MI/RI) after reperfusion therapy is common in acute myocardial infarction, thus affecting the prognosis of patients with acute myocardial infarction.
