Radicular pain, a common and complex form of neuropathic pain, presents significant challenges in treatment. Acupuncture, a therapy originating from ancient traditional Chinese medicine and widely utilized for various pain types, including radicular pain, has shown promising outcomes in the management of lumbar radicular pain, cervical radicular pain, and radicular pain due to spinal stenosis. Despite its efficacy, the exact mechanisms through which acupuncture achieves analgesia are not fully elucidated and are the subject of ongoing research.

Methods: The PubMed, EMBASE and Cochrane Library databases were searched for articles published in the treatment of end-stage ankle arthritis with AA or TAA from the establishment of the database to June 2021. Bias risk tool was used to evaluate the quality of the literature.
To identify the characteristics and sources of heavy metal pollution in the surrounding soil of a typical pyrite concentrated mining area in Anhui Province, the pH value and the concentrations of Zn, Cu, Cd, Pb, Cr, Ni, Hg, and As in 42 surface soil samples and 16 soil samples from two vertical sections in the study area were collected and measured. The distribution characteristics, pollution assessment, and source analysis of heavy metal elements were conducted using the ArcGis inverse distance weight interpolation method, Nemero comprehensive index method, principal component analysis method, and absolute factor score-multiple linear regression (APCS-MLR) receptor model. The results showed that the average concentration of the eight heavy metals was 1.

Methods: Fourteen patients with lumbar postoperative adjacent segmental diseases were treated with unilateral biportal endoscopy technique from June 2019 to June 2020. Among them, there were 9 males and 5 females, aged from 52 to 73 years old, and the interval between primary and revision operations ranged from 19 to 64 months.
Lead‑zinc mine tailing sites are widely distributed in China. Tailing sites with different hydrological settings tend to have different susceptibilities toward pollution and hence different priority pollutants and environmental risks. This paper aims to identify priority pollutants and key factors influencing environmental risks of lead‑zinc mine tailing sites with different types of hydrological settings.

Recent evidence shows that integrins are involved in the pathogenesis of neovascular age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. JP1, derived from an optimized seven-amino-acid fragment of JWA protein, is a polypeptide specifically targeting integrin αVβ3.

A series of factors, including inflammatory response, oxidative stress, autophagy, abnormal mechanical stress, nutritional deficiency, and genetics, lead to reduced extracellular matrix (ECM) synthesis by intervertebral disc (IVD) cells and accelerate IDD progression. Mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) is an evolutionarily conserved serine/threonine kinase that plays a vital role in diverse degenerative diseases.

Background: Difficult airway is a significant cause of anesthesia-associated death and disability. Currently, physical examinations of thyromental distance, mouth opening, Mafampaii classification, combined with X-ray, computed tomography (CT), and other imaging technologies are mainly used to evaluate difficult airways. However, in many special cases, , emergency surgery, imaging examinations cannot be completed preoperatively.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has spread rapidly worldwide with high rates of transmission and substantial mortality. To date, however, no effective treatments or enough vaccines for COVID-19 are available. The roles of angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) and spike protein in the treatment of COVID-19 are major areas of research.

Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the current status of disease-related knowledge and to analyze the relationship among the general condition, illness perception, and psychological status of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Methods: A hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted on 118 patients using convenience sampling. The general questionnaire, disease-related knowledge questionnaire of COVID-19, Illness Perception Questionnaire (IPQ), and Profile of Mood States (POMS) were used to measure the current status of participants.
Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is the most prevalent gastrointestinal tumor with an unfavorable clinical prognosis. GC patients are largely threatened owing to metastasis and drug resistance. Tumor angiogenesis plays an important role in the development of gastric cancer and is a challenge in the treatment of gastric cancer.

Methods: The clinical trials regarding acupuncture- moxibustion for peripheral facial paralysis published before May 31st 2019 were searched in databases of CNKI, WF, VIP, SinoMed, PubMed, Cochrane Library and Google Scholar. The information of included studies was extracted and the quality was assessed by two independent researchers.
Objective: To investigate the clinical features and evaluate the prognostic factors in patients with bone metastases from non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Methods: We retrospectively investigated 356 patients with NSCLC with bone metastases from January 2012 to December 2017. The overall survival (OS) and 1-year survival rate were calculated by Kaplan-Meier analysis and compared by univariate analysis using the log-rank test.
We present an experimental realization of a compact and reliable way to build a nondegenerate polarization-entangled photon-pair source based on a dual-periodically-poled $ {\rm Ti}:{{\rm LiNbO}_3} $Ti:LiNbO waveguide, which is in the telecommunication window and compatible with the fiber quantum networks. The dual-periodic structure allows two inherently concurrent quasiphase-matching spontaneous parametric down-conversion processes pumped by a single laser beam, hence enabling our source to be compact and stable. We show that our source has a high brightness of $ B = 1.

The percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomy (PTED) technique is one of the emerging surgical alternatives for treating central lumbar stenosis. The present study aims to describe the present techniques of PTED and foraminoplasty for central lumbar stenosis, and discuss the feasibility and advantages of this technique.

A total of 10 patients were treated by MRI-guided RFA, of whom 6 had stage IV disease (lung metastasis n=3, bone metastasis n=1, liver metastasis n=1 and mediastinal metastasis n=1) and the remaining 4 patients, who refused surgery, had stage III disease accompanied by severe underlying conditions. The changes in feasibility, tumor volume, bleeding, local recurrence, metastasis and complications were evaluated after RFA.

About 70% of GIST occur in the stomach, 20% in the small intestine and less than 10% in the esophagus. This study aimed to explore the difference of gene expression profile of GIST between different tumor sites.

Data on soil moisture and temperature, as well as plant distribution pattern in this mountain ecosystem were collected. We used regression analysis, CCA ordination and variance decomposition, to determine the impacts of the key factors (aspect, altitude, soil temperature and moisture) on plant diversity distribution in 189 sample sites of the hill.

Although several studies provide evidence that FBI-1 is an important gene regulator in colorectal cancer (CRC), it is noteworthy that, to our knowledge, no analysis of the correlation between FBI-1 expression and prognosis in CRC has been reported. Using real-time RT-PCR, we detected FBI-1 mRNA in 161 CRC patients (primary tumor, along with the corresponding normal mucosa), 36 liver metastases, and analyzed the relationship of its expression with clinicopathological features. Colon cancer cell lines were used to study FBI-1 function.

Dietary supplementation can improve growth performance of Tibetan sheep and, consequently, we hypothesized that it would also increase microbial abundance and rumen epithelium development. To test this hypothesis, we examined the effect of feed supplementation during the cold season on rumen microbes, fermentation, epithelium development, and absorptive capability in Tibetan sheep.
