Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disease and is characterized by progressive memory loss and cognitive dysfunction. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been shown to be among the most promising biomarkers and therapeutic targets of AD. Here, we aimed to investigate whether lncRNA BACE1-AS plays a role in the potential mechanisms of AD.

Article Synopsis
  • - Three Chinese milk powder brands (Mengniu, Yili, and Wandashan) were tested for starch adulteration using 32 samples with varying starch levels, and their near-infrared spectra were analyzed over a two-month period using a specialized device.
  • - A predictive model was created applying biomimetic pattern recognition to assess the quality of the adulterated milk powder, focusing on two key metrics: Correct Acceptance Rate (CAR) and Correct Rejection Rate (CRR), aiming for a threshold of 90%.
  • - The results indicated that the model effectively identified starch adulteration down to 0.1% for samples tested on the same day, showing consistent predictive accuracy across all three brands when their spectrum data was

Objective: To investigate the safety and effects of early bronchoscopy on atelectasis of the ventilation patients, whom had experienced craniotomy for severe cranial trauma and hemorrhage.

Methods: Fifty-five patients suffered from severe cranial trauma and hemorrhage with Glascow coma scores (GCS) less than 8 complicated by atelectasis after craniotomy were early given sputum suction by bronchoscope via extratracheal intubation and broncho-alveolar lavage (BAL) during tracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation. During the treatment, patients' consciousness, vital signs and arterial blood gas were closely monitored.
