- The study aimed to determine how clinical factors, dosimetric parameters, and biomarkers relate to postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) in patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) undergoing neoadjuvant chemoradiation therapy and surgery.
- A total of 112 patients were examined, and results showed that 29.5% developed PPCs, with preoperative functional vital capacity (FVC) and changes in serum TGF-β1 levels being significant predictors.
- The findings suggest that lower preoperative FVC and a significant decrease in TGF-β1 levels post-treatment are key factors linked to the risk of PPCs after surgery.
In this study, we have developed for the first time a fast and energy-efficient method for the synthesis of PbS nanocrystals with systematic shape evolution from cubic to truncated cubic, cuboctahedral, truncated octahedral, and octahedral structures. The method involves the addition of a small volume of preheated lead acetate and thioacetamide (TAA) mixture to an aqueous growth solution of lead acetate, thioacetamide, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, and nitric acid. By varying the amount of thioacetamide added to the growth solution, PbS nanocrystals with different morphologies were generated in 2 h at 90 °C.
