Objective: To study the biomechanical changes induced by differences in perioral force in patients with missing anterior maxillary teeth at rest via finite element analysis (FEA).
Methods: Using conical beam CT (CBCT) images of a healthy person, models of the complete maxillary anterior dental region (Model A) and maxillary anterior dental region with a missing left maxillary central incisor (Model B) were constructed. The labial and palatine alveolar bone and tooth surface of the bilateral incisor and cusp regions were selected as the application sites, the resting perioral force was applied perpendicular to the tissue surface, and the changes in maxillary stress and displacement after the perioral force was simulated were analyzed.

Twelve compounds were isolated from Liquidambaris Resina by silica gel column chromatography and thin layer chromatography. Their structures were identified on the basis of spectral data, electron capture detector data, and physicochemical properties as(2'R, 3'R)-2',3'-dihydroxy-hydrocinnamyl-(E)-cinnamate(1),(E)-cinnamyl-(E)-cinnamate(2), cinnamic acid(3), 28-norlup-20(29)-en-3-one-17β-hydroperoxide(4), erythrodiol(5), 13β,28-epoxy-30-hydroxyolean-1-en-3-one(6),(3β)-olean-12-ene-3,23-diol(7), 2α,3α-dihydroxy-olean-12-en-28-oic acid(8), 28-hydroxyolean-12-en-3-one(9), 3-epi-oleanolic acid(10), 3-oxo-oleanolic acid(11), and hederagenin(12). Compound 1 was a new cinnamic acid ester derivative and compounds 2-4,6-8, and 12 were isolated from Liquidambaris Resina for the first time.

Structures and relative or absolute configurations were elucidated by intensive spectroscopic methods, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. All isolated compounds were evaluated for their anti-angiogenic effects in vitro against VEGF-induced endothelial cell proliferation and migration in HUVECs.

Propranolol has been demonstrated to be effective for IHs; however, the factors affecting its therapeutic effect remain unknown. We enrolled 169 infants with IHs of the head and neck region treated with oral propranolol at a dose of 2.

Improving the topography of Ti surface may enhance osseointegration, however, the mechanism remains unknown. To investigate the effect of modified Ti surface on osteogenesis, we loaded rapamycin (RA) onto nano-hydroxyapatite (HAp) coated Ti surface which was acid-etched, alkali-heated and HAp coated sequentially.

Methods: Chemical light assay was used to detect the oxygen radicals scavenging capacity of total flavonoids of Hedysarum polybotry. Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in the culture medium, malondialdelyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in the cell were measured by spectroscopy, respectively.
