Nickel hexacyanoferrate film modified gold electrode was prepared by a simple chemical deposition procedure from a fresh prepared solution containing ferricyanide, Ni(2+), and sodium nitrate. The resultant films have solo composition and are significantly stable as compared to the electrochemically deposited NiHCF films. For different concentrations of Na(+) in the solution, the formal potential values of NiHCF shift according to the Nernstian behavior with a slope of 48 mV in the range of 10(-4) to 1.

A novel cycloheptapeptide, tunicyclin A, with a unique tricyclic ring cyclopeptide skeleton, was isolated from Psammosilene tunicoides. Its structure was elucidated by extensive NMR and MS analysis. Preparative purification of salidroside from Rhodiola rosea by two-step adsorption chromatography on resins.

Salidroside is an effective adaptogenic drug extracted from Rhodiola species. In the present study, a simple and efficient method for preparative separation and purification of salidroside from the Chinese medicinal plant Rhodiola rosesa was developed by adsorption chromatography on macroporous resins. The static adsorption isotherms and kinetics of some resins have been determined and compared for preparative separation of salidroside.

Necessity of screening water chestnuts for microcystins after cyanobacterial blooms break out.

Water chestnut is one of the most popular vegetables in Asian countries that grows in shallow water. Eighteen water chestnut samples were collected from Lake Tai and six samples were bought at markets in Wuxi, China, in October 2007. Extraction solution of water chestnut was cleaned up with a solid phase extraction column and immunoaffinity chromatography cartridges, then the microcystin (MC) level was detected by indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).

The portable hard-disk encryption/decryption system is composed of the authentication module, the USB portable hard-disk interface card, the ATA protocol command decoder module, the data encryption/decryption module, the cipher key management module, the MEMS coded lock controlling circuit module, the MEMS coded lock and the hard disk. The ATA protocol circuit, the MEMS control circuit and AES encryption/decryption circuit are designed and realized by FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array).

Determination of microcystin-LR in water from Lake Tai, China.

Microcystin-LR (MC-LR) is a heptapeptide hepatotoxin produced by cyanobacteria. Immunoaffinity chromatography (IAC) column was prepared with CNBr-activated Sepharose 4B and monoclonal antibody of MC-LR. Water sample was cleaned up by IAC column and the content of MC-LR in water was determined by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).

Biflavonoids from Daphne feddei and their inhibitory activities against nitric oxide production.

Bioassay-directed fractionation led to the isolation of two new biflavonoids and 13 known biflavonoids from a sample of the dried stem barks of Daphne feddei. The structures of compounds 1 and 2 were elucidated as 2''-methoxy-daphnodorin C (1) and 2''-methoxy-2-epi-daphnodorin C (2) on the basis of detailed spectroscopic analysis and X-ray crystallography.
