Cordycepin, a natural adenosine derivative, exhibits multiple pharmacological effects on organisms. However, its distribution and metabolic characteristics have not been fully elucidated in vivo. In this study, ultra-high liquid chromatography tandem high-resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC-HRMS/MS) was used to investigate the pharmacokinetic characteristics and effects of cordycepin on endogenous adenosine and inosine.

This study is dedicated to screening strains with high ethanol degradation capabilities from various fermented products, aiming to mitigate the adverse health effects of alcohol consumption. The research began with the isolation of target strains from pickled vegetables, sauerkraut, enzymes, and spoiled yellow wine, and then established a high-throughput screening method based on the color reaction of WST-8 and NADH. By utilizing automated liquid handling and imaging technologies, rapid transfer and cultivation of single colonies, as well as efficient assessment of ethanol degradation activity, were achieved.

However, no studies have focused specifically on BRAFv600e PCPs.
Methods: Spatial transcriptome sequencing was performed on calcified PCP tissue to identify novel subtypes of PCP cells.
The Annexin A (ANXA) family plays a critical role in cancer, with particular emphasis on their prognostic significance in pan-cancer analyses and gliomas. By integrating multi-omics data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and single-cell sequencing analysis, we conducted a comprehensive evaluation of ANXA2 and ANXA4 to investigate their expression patterns and functional impacts across various cancers, with a focus on glioblastoma (GBM). Our analysis encompassed several key components, including literature review, identification of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in cancer, survival analysis, co-expression studies, competing endogenous RNA networks, cellular functional analysis, tumor microenvironment response to chemotherapy, and tumor stemness.

However, all glutathione metabolism pertinent genes (GMPGs) expression and their diagnostic/prognostic/micropeptide potential analyses have not been investigated to perform in pan-cancers.
Methods: We gained GMPGs from the MsigDB 7.
Bletilla striata, a medicinal orchidaceous plant, is recognized for its significant pharmacological value. However, the lack of comparative metabolomic data across different extraction methods for analyzing its bioactive components has significantly undervalued the application potential of B. striata in the traditional Chinese medicine market.

We developed a direct sampling gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (GC-IMS) method to identify the dynamic VOCs after drinking Huangjiu-a fermented alcoholic beverages. The optimal procedure was obtained: take a sip of 10 mL Huangjiu, holding it in mouth for 10 s and then swallow, and the VOCs in one nasal expiration were collected with gas sampling bag and transferred directly to the injection port of GC-IMS.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOlfactory receptors, classified as G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs), have been a subject of scientific inquiry since the early 1950s. Historically, investigations into the sensory mechanisms of olfactory receptors were often confined to behavioral characteristics in model organisms or the expression of related proteins and genes. However, with the development of cryo-electron microscopy techniques, it has gradually become possible to decipher the specific structures of olfactory receptors in insects and humans.

Nicotine, a neuroactive substance in tobacco products, has been widely studied for its effects on feeding and body weight, mostly focusing on the involvement of nervous system, metabolism, hormones, and gut microbiota. To elucidate the action mechanism of nicotine on feeding and body weight, especially the underlying neurobiological mechanisms, we reviewed the studies on nicotine's effects on feeding and body weight by the regulation of various nerve systems, energy expenditure, peripheral hormones, gut microbiota, etc. The role of neuronal signaling molecules such as AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) and kappa opioid receptor (κOR) were specialized in the nicotine-regulating energy expenditure.

Methods: From August 2020 to June 2021, a total of 236 patients who admitted to the neurosurgical intensive care unit (NSICU) were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into GH group (97 cases) and nGH group (139 cases) according to whether they received r-hGH treatment.
To provide accurate diagnostic evidence for early hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection-related diseases, this study targeted HBV DNA as an analyte, where a sandwich-type electrochemical DNA sensor based on gold nanoparticles/reduced graphene oxide (Au NPs/ERGO) and cerium oxide/gold-platinum nanoparticles (CeO/AuPt NPs) was constructed. Au NPs/ERGO composite nanomaterials were first synthesized on the surface of a glass carbon electrode using electrochemical co-reduction, which significantly improved the specific surface area and electrical conductivity of the electrode. Further specific hybridization of target HBV-DNA was performed by combining capture probe DNA (S1-DNA) bound to AuNPs/ERGO with CeO/AuPt modified signal probe DNA (S2-DNA).

Inhaled Nitric Oxide (iNO) is sometimes used to treat Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn (PPHN) and Hypoxemic Respiratory Failure (HRF), and its impact on BPD development remains debated.
Objective: To assess whether iNO-related factors are potential contributors to the development of BPD Grade Ⅱ-Ⅲ in very premature infants (VPI) diagnosed with PPHN or HRF at birth using Propensity Score Matching (PSM).
Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), and Huntington's disease (HD) have become a major global health burden, but the detailed pathogeneses of neurodegenerative diseases are still unknown, and current treatments are mainly aimed at controlling symptoms; there are no curative treatments for neurodegenerative diseases or treatments for the progressive cognitive, behavioral, and functional impairments that they cause. Studies have shown that some plant extracts with pungent flavor components have a certain neuroprotective effect in neurodegenerative diseases, and their mechanisms mainly involve inhibiting neuronal apoptosis, promoting neuronal regeneration, reducing mitochondrial degeneration, and reducing the production of oxides such as reactive oxygen species in cells, which are of great significance for exploring the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. In this review, we searched the PubMed database for relevant literature collected in the past 15 years.
