Background: Data on the relationship between potassium intake and major cardiovascular events (MACE) in patients with diabetes are scarce. We aim to study the association between estimated potassium intake and risk of MACE in individuals with type 2 diabetes.
Methods: The discovery cohort consisted of 1572 participants with type 2 diabetes from a secondary hospital.
Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is an aggressive malignancy and the most common form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) that occurs worldwide. To discover risk factors and pathogenesis of DLBCL, we performed the largest GWAS of DLBCL to date in samples of East Asian ancestry, consisting of 2,888 patients with DLBCL and 12,458 controls. The meta-analysis identified three novel loci, rs2233434 on 6p21.

Naphthalenediimide (NDI) and perylenediimide (PDI)-based hybrid materials are highly regarded photocatalysts due to their strong visible-light absorption properties, highly electron-deficient aromatic cores, excellent redox activity, and tunable electrochemical and photochemical properties. However, although the design and preparation of NDI/PDI-based hybrid materials have progressed in the past few years, their application in photocatalytic organic reactions remains in the initial stage.

Chiral covalent organic frameworks (COFs), as porous crystalline chiral materials, have become an important platform on which to explore new chiral photocatalytic materials due to their precise tunability, chiral structure, and function. This review highlights recent research progress on chiral COFs and their crystalline composites, evaluating their application as catalysts in asymmetric photocatalytic organic transformations in terms of their structure.

Our previous work suggested that the natural compound xanthohumol, the most abundant prenylated flavonoid in hops, prevents memory deficits in APP/PS1 mice; however, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. : This study utilized APP/PS1 mice and cutting-edge omics techniques to investigate the effects of xanthohumol on hippocampal proteome, serum metabolome, and microbiome.

Here, a HAT derivative, hexaazatriphenylenehexacarbonitrile, is explored as an anode material for LIBs. The HAT anode exhibited high initial reversible capacities of 672 mA h g at 100 mA g and 550 mA h g at 400 mA g and stable cycling with a capacity of 503 mA h g after 1000 cycles at 400 mA g corresponding to a capacity retention of 91.

We assessed the proteomic profiles to identify subtype specific biomarkers and its association with diabetes complications.
Methods: 1448 plasma proteins at baseline were measured and compared across the T2D subtypes.
Background: Diabetic kidney disease is an established risk factor for heart failure. However, the impact of incident heart failure on the subsequent risk of renal failure has not been systematically assessed in diabetic population. We sought to study the risk of progression to end stage kidney disease (ESKD) after incident heart failure in Asian patients with type 2 diabetes.

Spirotryprostatins are representative members of medicinally interesting bioactive molecules of the spirooxindole natural products. In this communication, we present a novel enantioselective total synthesis of the spirooxindole alkaloid dihydrospirotryprostatin B. The synthesis takes advantage of copper-catalyzed tandem reaction of -iodoanilide chiral sulfinamide derivatives with alkynone to rapidly construct the key quaternary carbon stereocenter of the natural product dihydrospirotryprostatin B.

Chlorophenols (CPs) are a group of pollutants that pose a great threat to the environment, they are widely used in industrial and agricultural wastes, pesticides, herbicides, textiles, pharmaceuticals and plastics. Among CPs, pentachlorophenol was listed as one of the persistent organic pollutants (POPs) by the Stockholm convention. This study aims to identify the UDP-glucosyltransferase (UGT) isoforms involved in the metabolic elimination of CPs.

However, their associations with rapid decline in kidney function (RDKF) and end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) are unknown. In this prospective study of 1746 T2D participants, we examined the association of plasma ceramide Cer16:0, Cer18:0, Cer24:0, and Cer24:1 with RDKF, defined as an estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) decline of 5 ml/min/1.

Ligusticum cycloprolactam(LIGc) are derivatives of Z-ligustilide(LIG), a pharmacodynamic marker of Angelica sinensis, which has various biological functions such as anti-inflammation and inhibition of cell apoptosis. However, its protective effect on chondrocytes in the case of OA and the underlying mechanism remain unclear.

Background: A 32-year-old male patient was diagnosed with a 30% left pneumothorax on November 5, 2020, during which chest imaging indicated abnormalities. Despite this, pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) was not diagnosed or treated at that time due to a negative result in the MGIT960 culture. The patient experienced symptoms of cough and expectoration on April 24, 2022.
