Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates how elevated CO levels affect rice growth, focusing on the development of spikelets, grain filling, and overall rice quality, using a specific cultivar under controlled conditions.
  • - Results indicate that increased CO levels boosted overall grain yield by 18.3%, but also led to a reduction in spikelets per panicle and filled-grain percentage due to more empty grains developing in all panicle parts.
  • - Notably, the increase in grain dimensions and chalkiness, as well as slight changes in amylose content, were consistent across different grain positions on the panicle, suggesting uniform responses despite some variations in yield metrics.
