Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disease caused by the dysfunction and death of dopaminergic neurons. Neural-stem-cell (NSC)-based therapy is a promising approach for the treatment of PD but its therapeutic performance is limited by low efficiency of differentiation of NSCs to dopaminergic neurons. Although electrical stimulation can promote neuronal differentiation, it is not verified whether it can induce the NSCs to specifically differentiate into dopaminergic neurons.

Traditional cancer treatment is confronted with the problem of limited therapeutic effect, tissue defects, and lack of drug screening. Hydrogel scaffolds from biological macromolecules based on microfluidic technology are a promising candidate, which can mimic tumor microenvironments to screen personalized drugs, promote the regeneration of healthy tissues, and deliver drugs for enhanced localized antitumor treatment. This review summarizes the latest research on the composition of biomacromolecular hydrogel scaffolds, the architecture of hydrogel scaffolds from microfluidic technology, and their application in cancer therapy, including anti-tumor drug screening, anti-tumor treatment, and anti-tumor treatment and tissue repair.

Demyelination occurs widely in the central nervous system (CNS) neurodegenerative diseases, especially the multiple sclerosis (MS), which with a complex and inflammatory lesion microenvironment inhibiting remyelination. Sirtuin6 (SIRT6), a histone/protein deacetylase is of interest for its promising effect in transcriptional regulation, cell cycling, inflammation, metabolism and longevity. This paper reports a spin-disc paper-based device with 10 individual detection units containing electromagnetic modules controlling the sample incubation time before chemiluminescence (CL) signal detection. After the sample was added to the top paper chip and incubated with the enzyme, the electromagnet was turned off to allow contact between the top and bottom paper. Carbon-based carbides have attracted tremendous attention for electromagnetic energy attenuation due to their adjustable dielectric properties, oxidation resistance, and good chemical stability. Herein, we reasonably regulate the growth of dopamine hydrochloride on the surface of the Mo-glycerate (Mo-GL) microsphere and then transform the resultant Mo-polydopamine (Mo-PD) microsphere into a dual-shell MoC/C (DS-MoC/C) microsphere in a high-temperature pyrolysis process under an inert atmosphere. It is found that the pyrolysis temperature plays an important role in the graphitization degree of the carbon matrix and internal architecture.
