Background: Acquired lymphedema is a global health concern with limited treatment options. While vascular endothelial growth factor C (VEGF-C) administration has shown promise for the treatment of this patient population, no small-molecule compounds have hitherto been identified to improve lymphedema by stimulating VEGF-C expression and lymphangiogenesis.

Objective: This study investigated the therapeutic effect of notoginsenoside R1 (R1) on a mouse model of tail acquired lymphedema and explored the underlying mechanisms.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the effectiveness of esketamine as an adjunct to propofol sedation compared to sufentanil during minimally invasive rotary resection (MIRR) for breast tumors.
  • Results show that patients receiving esketamine-propofol experienced significantly lower hypoxia rates (17.5%) and fewer airway interventions compared to those on sufentanil-propofol (39%).
  • Overall, esketamine improves safety without affecting awakening time or patient satisfaction, making it a promising option for anesthesia during breast MIRR.

The manifestations of emotional eating are complicated, encompassing both over- and under-eating. However, little is understood about how emotional over- and under-eating constitute individuals' eating patterns and how these patterns change over time. Employing latent transition analysis, a longitudinal and person-centered approach, this study examined the patterns and stability of emotional eating.

Background: Poor mental health literacy (MHL) in the global population significantly contributes to the treatment gap associated with mental disorders. In the digital age, leveraging Internet-based MHL interventions offers scalability and broader accessibility. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effects of Internet-based interventions in improving MHL and mental health.

Background: Qi She Pill (QSP) is a traditional prescription for the treatment of neuropathic pain (NP) that is widely used in China. However, no network pharmacology studies of QSP in the treatment of NP have been conducted to date.

Objective: To verify the potential pharmacological effects of QSP on NP, its components were analyzed via target docking and network analysis, and network pharmacology methods were used to study the interactions of its components.

Objective: Whole-body vibration (WBV), providing cyclic mechanical stimulation, has been used to accelerate fracture healing in preclinical studies. This study aimed to summarize and evaluate the effects of WBV on bone healing in ovariectomized rat models and then analyze its potential effects on fractures in human postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Methods: PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP, SinoMed, and WanFang databases were searched from their inception date to September 2017, and an updated search was conducted in January 2018.

Novel chitosan derivatives carrying linoleic acid (LA) as hydrophobic moieties and poly(beta-malic acid) (PMLA) as hydrophilic moieties (LA/PMLA double grafted chitosan, LMC) were synthesized. It self-assembled into nanoparticles of 190-350 nm in water, which carried negative surface charges in physiological pH. The critical aggregation concentration of the LMC deceased with an increase in the LA content.
