Objectives: To establish a quantitative method for objectively assessing 3-dimensional (3D) mandibular trajectories and comparing clinical evaluations with computational analyses.
Methods: In total, 184 volunteers were recruited and grouped into control (n = 121) and temporomandibular disorder (TMD) groups (n = 63) according to the dual-axis DC/TMD checklist. 3D trajectories were generated by integrating mandibular motion and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) records.
Intangible cultural heritage represents a cultural evolution shaped by human responses to adapting and transforming environments. Unveiling the characteristics and patterns of its spatial distribution can offer a more scientific foundation for the protection of intangible cultural heritage and the development of heritage tourism. By using ArcGIS software and Geo-detector, the regional differentiation characteristics and influencing mechanisms of Intangible Cultural Heritage, specifically the Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture and Art (HCFCA), have been investigated.

Aniline and crude oil are common environmental pollutants that present a significant risk to both the ecological and human health environments. The implementation of efficacious bioremediation strategies is imperative for the elimination of these contaminants. In this study, a bacterial strain designated DH-2 was isolated from soil contaminated with aniline.

To bridge this gap, we introduce CellContrast, a computational method for reconstructing spatial relationships among SC cells from spatial transcriptomics (ST) reference. By adopting a contrastive learning framework and training with ST data, CellContrast projects gene expressions into a hidden space where proximate cells share similar representation values.

The synthesis of -alkyl glycosides has attracted considerable attention. Herein, we developed a Ni/photoredox catalyzed decarboxylative ()-() coupling reaction of stable glycosylcarboxylic acids with simple aliphatic bromides to generate C-alkyl glycosides.

Flexible three-carbon skeleton makes N, N, N', N'-tetramethyl-1,3-propanediamine (TMPDA) an important diamine system to investigate the conformation-dependent electron lone pair interactions and charge delocalization. The charge transfer process linked to structural motions of the three-carbon skeleton has been monitored in real time by the Rydberg electron binding energy (BE) spectra of TMPDA coupled with quantum chemical calculations. Optical excitation to the 3p state with a 200 nm pump pulse initially generated a localized charge on one of the two nitrogen atoms that may partially transfer to the other one.

A total of 60 healthy 30-d-old female Holstein calves were blocked by birth date and body weight and randomly assigned to 1 of 3 groups (n = 20): normal milk and pelleted starter feeding (CON), supplemented with chopped oat hay (OAH; 75.0 g/d per calf [DM basis]), or alfalfa hay (ALF; 75.

While previous motor adaptation studies on individuals with schizophrenia have largely focused on large and consistent perturbations induced by abrupt experimental manipulations, such as donning prism goggles, the adaptation process to random perturbations, either caused by intrinsic motor noise or external disturbances, has not been examined - despite its ecological relevance. Here, we used a unified behavioral task paradigm to examine motor adaptation to perturbations of three causal structures among individuals in the remission stage of schizophrenia, youth with ultra-high risk of psychosis, adults with active symptoms, and age-matched controls.

The World Health Organization (WHO) set a goal to eliminate viral hepatitis including hepatitis A by 2030. In 2008, hepatitis A vaccines were integrated into the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) in China to alleviate the burden of hepatitis A, although the effectiveness of the EPI has not been well investigated.

Here, we propose and demonstrate a GeSbTe (GST)-based metamaterial device, where an actively controllable function is experimentally verified by inducing the crystallization process with thermal activation. Cross-polarization conversion in the reflection mode and circular-to-linear polarization conversion in the transmission mode are obtained under crystalline and amorphous GST conditions, respectively.

Medical images are information carriers that visually reflect and record the anatomical structure of the human body, and play an important role in clinical diagnosis, teaching and research, etc. Modern medicine has become increasingly inseparable from the intelligent processing of medical images. In recent years, there have been more and more attempts to apply deep learning theory to medical image segmentation tasks, and it is imperative to explore a simple and efficient deep learning algorithm for medical image segmentation.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAutomatic segmentation of medical images has been a hot research topic in the field of deep learning in recent years, and achieving accurate segmentation of medical images is conducive to breakthroughs in disease diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment. In medicine, MRI imaging technology is often used to image brain tumors, and further judgment of the tumor area needs to be combined with expert analysis. If the diagnosis can be carried out by computer-aided methods, the efficiency and accuracy will be effectively improved.

In this paper, benzocyclobutylene (BCB)-functionalized phosphorus-oxygen flame retardant composites were prepared through introducing the BCB groups, and the performance was researched by thermogravimetric analysis, microcombustion calorimetry, and thermomechanical analysis. The research results show that these phosphorus oxide compounds containing BCB groups show good thermal stability and low total heat release (THR) after thermal curing, and the more BCB groups on the phosphorus oxide monomers, the better the thermal stability and flame retardancy of cured resins.

However, it is challenging to analyze the nonlinear optical characteristics of random laser (RL) in disordered gain medium via RSB due to the lack of a general RSB-based statistical analysis framework. In this work, we report the tunable RSB in polymer fiber RL, where the effects of temperature and different structures on RSB are investigated experimentally and theoretically.

With the rapid development of interregional power transmission, the redistribution of fossil and renewable energy resources has changed sharply, and its complexity poses a challenge to the evaluation of power carbon emission responsibility. This study constructs an interprovincial power transmission framework to measure the seasonal carbon emissions embodied in regional electricity consumption over the period of 2008-2015 based on quarterly data. Then, a structural decomposition approach was developed to identify the influential factors of carbon emissions embodied in provincial electricity consumption from a seasonal perspective.
