Chilled beef is a perishable food product. Due to the broad-spectrum antimicrobial properties of chitosan, and the biodegradability of PLLA, chitosan and PLLA are introduced double bonding groups to obtain Chitosan-graft-Glycidyl methacrylate (Cs-g-GMA) and Poly(L-lactic acid)-co-poly(butylene itaconate) (PLBI), respectively. Cs-g-GMA is then grafted onto the surface of PLBI films by UV curing to produce PLBI/Cs-g-GMA films with non-migratory, broad-spectrum antimicrobial, biodegradable, and possess good oxygen barrier properties, compared to current antimicrobial films.

The abrasives of traditional grinding wheels are usually randomly arranged on the substrate, reducing the number of effective abrasive grains involved in the machining during the grinding process. However, there are some problems such as uneven distribution of chip storage space, high grinding temperature, and easy surface burn. In trying to address this issue, an ultrasonic vibration 3D printing method is introduced to fabricate the structured CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) grinding wheel.

The substances that cause abnormal DNA structures are known as DNA damage-inducing factors, and their resulting DNA damage has been extensively studied and proven to be closely related to cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and aging. Prolonged exposure to DNA damage-inducing factors can lead to a variety of difficult-to-treat diseases, yet these factors have not been well summarized. It is crucial to use a combination of environmental science and life science to gain a deep understanding of the environmental sources and biological consequences of DNA damage-inducing factors for mechanistic research and prevention of diseases such as cancer.

Antimicrobial packaging can prolong the shelf life of fresh food, but those active antimicrobial substances may leach into the food and affect its quality. To avoid this phenome, the CC double bond was first incorporated into the chemical structure of polylactic acid (PLLA) and tannic acid (TA) to prepare poly(L-LA-co-butyrate itaconate) (PLBI) and photoactive tannic acid (pTA). Then pTA-grafted PLBI (pTA-g-PLBI) films were fabricated using UV curing technology.

Wound healing impairment in diabetes mellitus is associated with an excessive inflammatory response and defective regeneration capability with suppressed Hedgehog (Hh) signaling. The bromodomain protein BRD9, a subunit of the non-canonical BAF chromatin-remodeling complex, is critical for macrophage inflammatory response. However, whether the epigenetic drug BRD9 degrader can attenuate the sustained inflammatory state of wounds in diabetes remains unclear.

Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are a class of conserved pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) that are crucial for initiating the innate immune response and aiding in the clearance of pathogenic organisms. Many studies have identified TLR4 as a distinctive member of the TLR family, capable of activating both the Myeloid differentiation factor 88-dependent signaling pathway (MyD88-dependent) and the TIR-domain-containing adaptor inducing IFN-β dependent signaling pathway (TRIF-dependent). Nevertheless, the role of TLR4 in Cephalopoda is still largely unexplored.

A general approach for the α-arylation of heteroarenes with nitroarenes via denitrative coupling is reported for the first time. Various heteroarenes, including derivatives of furan, benzofuran, pyrrole, indole, thiophene, and benzothiophene, can be arylated at the α-position in moderate to good yields. Mechanistic studies demonstrate that the reaction proceeds via a CMD pathway, with C-H bond activation as the rate-determining step.

There is no effective and noninvasive solution for thrombolysis because the mechanism by which certain thrombi become tissue plasminogen activator (tPA)-resistant remains obscure. Endovascular thrombectomy is the last option for these tPA-resistant thrombi, thus a new noninvasive strategy is urgently needed. Through an examination of thrombi retrieved from stroke patients, we found that neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), ε-(γ-glutamyl) lysine isopeptide bonds and fibrin scaffolds jointly comprise the key chain in tPA resistance.

Chromatin remodeler ARID1A regulates gene transcription by modulating nucleosome positioning and chromatin accessibility. While ARID1A-mediated stage and lineage-restricted gene regulation during cell fate canalization remains unresolved. Using osteoclastogenesis as a model, we show that ARID1A transcriptionally safeguards the osteoclast (OC) fate canalization during proliferation-differentiation switching at single-cell resolution.

Colour centres in diamond have emerged as a leading solid-state platform for advancing quantum technologies, satisfying the DiVincenzo criteria and recently achieving quantum advantage in secret key distribution. Blueprint studies indicate that general-purpose quantum computing using local quantum communication networks will require millions of physical qubits to encode thousands of logical qubits, presenting an open scalability challenge. Here we introduce a modular quantum system-on-chip (QSoC) architecture that integrates thousands of individually addressable tin-vacancy spin qubits in two-dimensional arrays of quantum microchiplets into an application-specific integrated circuit designed for cryogenic control.
