In this study, demethylated-acylated enzymatic hydrolysis lignin (DAEHL) with excellent solubility in castor oil and antioxidant activities were prepared via the tandem modification strategy. First, iodocyclohexane simultaneously achieved β-O-4 breakage and hydrogenation, which enhanced the antioxidant activity of lignin. Furthermore, the acylation reaction by palmitoyl chloride increased the alkyl content in the lignin, which can improve the solubility of lignin in castor oil.

Reducing SCF while maintaining optimal IMF levels requires a thorough understanding of the adipogenic differences between these two adipose depots. Capacitive deionization for selective separation of ions is rarely reported since it relies on the electrostatic attraction of oppositely charged ions with no capability to distinguish ions of different valent states. Using molecular dynamic simulation, a screening process identified a hybrid material known as AC/PTh, which consists of activated carbon with a thin layer of polythiophene (PTh) coating. Equisetin, a bioactive compound of marine origin, offers compelling inhibitory properties against HIV-1 transcriptase. To gain comprehensive insights into the interaction of Equisetin with human serum albumin (HSA), we utilized a multipronged approach involving spectroscopy, isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) and molecular docking. Our fluorescence analyses confirmed that the interaction between Equisetin and HSA results in a significant quenching of HSA's fluorescence, primarily achieved through a dynamic mechanism aided by hydrogen bonding and van der Waals forces.

Both electrical conductivity and surface wettability are required for the selection of active carbon materials in flow-electrode capacitive deionization, while a trade-off exists between these two properties.
