Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most prevalent form of dementia in the elderly, involves critical changes such as reduced aerobic glycolysis in astrocytes and increased neuronal apoptosis, both of which are significant in the disease's pathology. In our study, astrocytes treated with amyloid β1-42 (Aβ) to simulate AD conditions exhibited upregulated expressions of small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO)-specific protease 1 (SENP1) and Pumilio RNA Binding Family Member 2 (PUM2), alongside decreased levels of Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (NRF2). SENP1 is notably the most upregulated SUMOylation enzyme in Aβ-exposed astrocytes.

However, it is rare for CADASIL to recur with different clinical manifestations in 1 patient, and some atypical clinical manifestations can easily lead to misdiagnosis by clinical physicians.
Case Concern: A 34-year-old male presented with transient speech disorder accompanied by weakness in the left side of the body for 1 day in June 2020.
Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been discovered through many studies to play a crucial role in tumor progression. LncRNA PCAT5 has been identified as a human cancer-related gene in diverse cancers. However, the specific role of PCAT5 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) still needs further study.

Objective: Our study aimed to reveal the molecular mechanisms underlying the regulation of cerebral infarction by herpes virus latency infection via the OTUD1/NF-κB signaling pathway using evidence-based medicine Meta-analysis and bioinformatics analysis.
Methods: We conducted a Meta-analysis by searching Pubmed, Embase, and Web of Science databases to evaluate the correlation between herpes virus infection and increased risk of cerebral infarction. We obtained wild-type or mutant herpes virus latent infection-related brain tissue datasets from the GEO database and performed differential analysis to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the brain tissue after herpes virus latent infection.
Background: Cerebrovascular disease (CVD) ranks among the foremost factors responsible for mortality on a global scale. The mortality patterns of CVDs and temporal trends in China need to be well-illustrated and updated.
Methods: We collected mortality data on patients with CVD from Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention's Disease Surveillance Points (CDC-DSP) system.

Background: Argatroban is a novel direct thrombin inhibitor that has been used for treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS). To our knowledge, no systematic analysis has assessed the efficacy and safety of argatroban for treatment of AIS.
Aim: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of argatroban for treatment of AIS.
After reviewing the diagnosis and treatment process of a patient with active cancer who experienced wake-up stroke, we have summarized the clinical manifestations, laboratory examination results, imaging features, pathological results, and treatment in this report. Patients with active cancer who experience wake-up stroke often have mild neurological deficits at the time of onset. For the patient in this study, laboratory test results were mainly characterized by abnormal coagulation function and elevated tumor markers.

The diagnosis was confirmed by lung computed tomography, enhanced brain magnetic resonance imaging, histopathology, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) cytology, and serum and CSF tumor markers. Genetic testing detected an epidermal growth factor receptor gene exon 19 deletion.

Methods: This retrospective study included 119 cancer patients with AIS and 152 cancer patients without AIS. Basic information was collected and tumor metastasis status was determined for all patients.
Objective: To research the clinical characteristics and risk factors of lung cancer-associated acute ischemic stroke (LCA-AIS).
Methods: Patients diagnosed with LCA-AIS, simple lung cancer, and simple AIS were enrolled. The primary information, laboratory results, tumor histopathology, neurological deficits, and survival time of the patients were collected and analyzed.
