Here, we introduce the first example of bisboronic esters as potent agents for rapidly disrupting redox homeostasis, selectively inducing oxidative stress to eliminate cancer cells. Structure-activity relationship studies revealed that both the electronic and steric factors significantly influence their cytotoxicity, with the most effective compounds achieving IC values as low as 0.

Although imidacloprid has been shown to present potential risks to non-target invertebrates and vertebrates, researches exploring this risk from the perspective of the underground ecosystem remains incomplete. In this study, we determined that the presence of imidacloprid significantly reduced the abundance and diversity of soil nematodes in maize rhizospheric soil. Furthermore, imidacloprid also exerted negative effects on the body length, reproduction, locomotion, lipid accumulation, lipofuscin accumulation, and acetylcholinesterase activity in the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans.

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical effect of 3D printing double positioning crown extension guide combined with 3D printing temporary crown in red aesthetic restoration of anterior teeth.
Methods: Twenty patients (70 teeth in total) who needed aesthetic restoration were randomly divided into 3D printing group (9 cases, 36 teeth) and traditional restoration group (11 cases, 34 teeth). The 3D printing team performed digital design, 3D printing double positioning crown lengthening guide to help crown lengthening operation, and 3D printed temporary crown was used after operation.
Developing adhesive materials that can selectively degrade into non-toxic by-products is a key challenge in materials science, particularly for short-term implantable devices and tissue regeneration treatments. Herein, we leverage biodegradable phytoglycogen (PG) nanoparticles (highly branched glucose polysaccharide nanoparticles) as scaffolds for coupling adhesive dopamine motifs to be used as biodegradable underwater adhesives. Phytoglycogen-dopamine (PG-dopa) hybrid nanoparticles could be synthesised in an aqueous solvent, to which the products retained a similar size and particle morphology to the initial PG nanoparticles.

FeHV-1, the causative agent of feline viral rhinotracheitis (FVR), leads to severe respiratory and systemic complications in cats. In this study, 35 cats were divided into blank, FeHV-1 infection, and AAEO treatment groups (high, medium, and low doses).

The ectopic thyroid gland is an abnormal development of the embryo. Most of the ectopic thyroid occurs in the path around the thyroglossal duct or on the lateral side of the neck. However, ectopic thyroid occurs in the heart, which is rare.

TBS showed superior performance in identifying vertebral fractures compared to areal bone mineral density (aBMD), especially in patients without densitometric osteoporosis, suggesting its potential for monitoring vertebral fractures and spinal deformity risk.
Background: TBS, derived from a textural greyscale analysis of lumbar spine dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) images, offers a non-invasive and indirect evaluation of bone microarchitecture.
Over the past few decades, immunotherapy has emerged as a powerful strategy to overcome the limitations of conventional cancer treatments. The use of extracellular vesicles, particularly exosomes, which carry cargoes capable of modulating the immune response, has been extensively explored as a potential therapeutic approach in cancer immunotherapy. Exosomes can deliver their cargo to target cells, thereby influencing their phenotype and immunomodulatory functions.

After excluding 5 patients in whom robotic-assisted PTNB could not be performed due to technical problems, a total of 50 patients with robotic-assisted PTNB and 200 patients who performed freehand puncture were included. Using propensity score matching (PSM) to match two groups of patients and simulate a randomized controlled scenario.

Background: Adolescent depression is increasing globally, and family conflict may contribute to its transmission across generations. However, longitudinal evidence on these dynamics remains sparse. This study examines the longitudinal associations between family conflict and adolescents' and parents' depressive symptoms from three waves of data.

In this study, the effect of the amount of LE on the microstructure, physical and functional performances of the SSPS-based films, and its antioxidant activity and practical application in delaying the oxidation of oil-fried peanuts were investigated. The results showed that the compounding of LE increased the tensile strength (TS) by 4.

One of the key obstacles in treating brain diseases is the blood-brain barrier (BBB), which restricts the penetration of NP-based therapies into the brain. To address this issue, NPs can be installed with specific ligands or bioengineered to boost their precision and efficacy in targeting brain-diseased cells by navigating across the BBB, ultimately improving patient treatment outcomes.

The study compared breast milk and the corresponding infant gut microbiota from 35 healthy mothers in Tongwei and 28 in Wuxi, uncovering significant differences in microbial alpha and beta diversity. A unique strain, FN029, characteristically transmitted from breast milk to the infant gut in Tongwei, was identified.

This research letter developed structured prompts for LLMs and evaluated their feasibility in extracting data from randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Using Claude (Claude-2) as the platform, we designed comprehensive structured prompts comprising 58 items across six Cochrane Handbook domains and tested them on 10 randomly selected RCTs from published Cochrane reviews.

This study evaluates the burden, trends, and cross-country inequalities of four common nutritional deficiencies (protein-energy malnutrition, iodine deficiency, vitamin A deficiency, and dietary iron deficiency) in older adults from 1990 to 2021.
Methods: Age-standardised prevalence, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), and average annual percentage changes (AAPCs) of these deficiencies in people aged ≥ 65 years at global, regional, and national levels were estimated from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD) 2021.

However, COF electrocatalysts require precise structural engineering, such as heteroatoms or metal site doping, to modulate the reaction pathway during the ORR process. In this work, we designed a tetraphenyl-p-phenylenediamine based COF electrocatalyst, namely TPDA-BDA, which exhibited excellent two-electron (2e) ORR performance with high HO selectivity of 89.
