Background And Objective: Oral bioavailability (F) is one of the key factors that need to be determined in drug discovery. This factor is determined by the permeability and solubility of new molecule entities (NMEs) according to the biopharmaceutics classification system (BCS).

Methods: In the present study, we evaluated the permeability of 22 drugs in rat intestinal tissues using an Ussing chamber system and correlated the permeability with data on human intestinal absorption (F) and intestinal availability (F × F) reported in the literature.

Background: Type 1 long interspersed elements, or LINE-1, are the only retroelements that replicate autonomously in human cells. The retrotransposition process of LINE-1 can trigger the activation of the innate immune system and has been proposed to play a role in the development of several autoimmune diseases, including Aicardi-Goutières syndrome (AGS). In contrast, all known AGS-associated proteins, except MDA5, have been reported to affect LINE-1 activity.

Integrated studies of accumulated data can be performed to obtain more reliable information and more feasible measures for investigating potential diagnostic biomarkers of gastric cancer (GC) and to explore related molecular mechanisms. This study aimed to identify microRNAs involved in GC by integrating data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus. Through our analysis, we identified hsa-miR-17 (miR-17) as a suitable candidate.

Objective: To study the possibility of lower the nosocomial infection rate among the premature infants by prophylactic use of antibiotics.

Methods: Retrospectively collect 409 premature infants admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of First Hospital of Jilin University between 1st January in 2009 and 31th December in 2011, who meet inclusion criteria. There were prohylactic group and nonprohylactic group randomly divided and compared the nosocomial infection rates of two groups.
