Despite the emergence of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and antibiotic resistant bacteria (ARBs), how biological inter-trophic interactions, modulated by watershed urbanization, shape the resistome remains unexplored. We collected water samples from the highly urbanized (western: 65 % built land, sewage-affected) and lesser-urbanized (northern: 25 % built land, drinking water source) downstream tributaries of the Jiulong River in southeast China over dry and wet seasons. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder with unclear etiology. This study employs single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), high-throughput transcriptome sequencing, 16s rRNA sequencing, and animal experiments to investigate the role of the contactin-associated protein like-4 (Cntnap4) gene in AD and its interaction with intestinal flora. Here a scalable approach utilizing the designed molecularly interpenetrating interfaces is presented to achieve all-organic dielectric polymers with high U and charge-dischage efficiency (η). Distinctive intermolecular interactions and microstructural changes, as demonstrated experimentally and theoretically, are introduced by the molecularly interpenetrating interfaces, resulting in simultaneous improvements in dielectric responses and mechanical strength while inhibiting electrical conduction - outcomes unattainable in conventional layered polymers.

Well-controlled conjugation of distinct metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with dissimilar components and structures into a multi-component MOF system is important for the design of myriad materials with structural complexity, integrated properties, and desired applications. In this study, we focus on the designability and controllability of the interaction interface between secondary structures, and discover an important interface interaction between helical secondary structures by non-covalent synthesis along the helical axis. The formation of discrete heterochiral dimers consisting of left-handed helix and right-handed helix not only helps to discover nonclassical supramolecular chirality phenomena, but also enables controllable protein assembly. Highly ordered nanostructures were thus constructed using π-stacking dimerization of helical foldamers to control tetrameric avidin proteins.
