Background: High fasting plasma glucose (HFPG) has been identified as one of the risk factors associated with the development of breast cancer. The worldwide distribution of breast cancer attributable to HFPG was not comprehensively investigated.
Methods: We utilized the data from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021 to explore HFPG-related breast cancer deaths, disability adjusted life years (DALYs) and corresponding age-standardized rates (ASRs).
Emerging contaminants refer to chemical substances that have not been widely regulated but possess the potential to cause adverse effects on both the environment and human health. Antibiotics, as emerging contaminants, pose significant threats to ecosystems and human health due to their widespread use and persistence in the environment. Levofloxacin, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic, is commonly employed in the treatment of bacterial infections, and has been frequently detected in environmental matrices and freshwater systems.

Endodontic microsurgical intervention in infected teeth causing MSEO requires careful assessment and planning. This study evaluated the anatomical patterns of MSF using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), and further explored their influence on the endodontic microsurgery of MSEO.

To explore the correlation between malignant risk of pulmonary nodules (PNs) and oral commensals enrichment in LRT, oral saliva and bronchial alveolar lavage fluid samples from 22 low-risk PN patients, 17 intermediate-risk PN patients, and 11 high-risk PN patients were analyzed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Alpha and beta diversity analyses reveal minimal variation in oral microbial diversity and abundance among patients with different risks of PN.

The body's metabolites are closely related to disease states. Gouteng Granules (TG), a traditional Chinese medicine compound, has been proven to be an effective compound for the treatment of hypertension by traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis, but the target and therapeutic mechanism of TG on hypertension are still unclear.

Materials And Methods: 175 CBCTs containing 242 MS were used as the training, validating and testing datasets at the ratio of 7:1:2. The datasets contained healthy MS and MS with mild (2-4 mm), moderate (4-10 mm) and severe (10- mm) mucosal thickening.
Objective: To systematically evaluate the efficacy of traditional Chinese exercises (TCEs) for neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPSs) in patients with Parkinson's disease.
Methods: A comprehensive literature search was performed across eight databases, including PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science (WoS), SinoMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), China Science and Technology Periodical Database (VIP), and Wanfang Database, covering studies published from their inception up to April 23, 2024. The search focused on identifying randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing the effectiveness of TCEs for NPSs in PD patients.
Long-term potentiation (LTP) and long-term depression (LTD) are widely used to study synaptic plasticity. However, whether proteins regulating LTP and LTD are altered in cognitive disorders and contribute to disease onset remains to be determined. Herein, we induced LTP and LTD in the hippocampal CA3-CA1 Schaffer collateral pathway, respectively, and then performed proteomic analysis of the CA1 region.

This study explored the impact of original and aged polyvinyl chloride (PVC) MPs on wastewater treatment performance and bacterial communities. Results revealed that Fenton-aging treatment induced surface roughening of the MPs and altered their chemical properties.

The germination process is typically time-consuming, and germinated seeds present challenges in terms of storage and transportation compared to dry seeds. This study introduces a novel processing method for rice, termed prolonged priming (PLP), aiming to combine the benefits of germinated and dry seeds.

Oral microbiota-lung cancer (LC) interactions have qualified oral microbiota as a promising non-invasive predictive biomarker in IPN.
Materials And Methods: Prospectively collected saliva, throat swabs, and tongue coating samples from 1040 IPN patients and 70 healthy controls across three hospitals.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most lethal intracranial tumor with a median survival of approximately 15 months. Due to its highly invasive properties, it is particularly difficult to accurately identify the tumor margins intraoperatively. The current gold standard for diagnosing GBM during surgery is pathology, but it is time-consuming.

Materials And Methods: This study included a total of 483 participants (141 healthy controls and 342 patients with pPNs) from June 2022 and January 2024. Saliva samples were subjected to sequencing of the V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene to assess microbial diversity and differential abundance.
In the field of fringe projection profilometry, phase sensitivity is a critical factor influencing the precision of object measurements. Traditional techniques that employ basic horizontal or vertical fringe projection often do not achieve optimal levels of phase sensitivity. The identification of the fringe angle that exhibits optimal phase sensitivity has been a significant area of research.

Organic phosphorothioates are a class of organic compounds containing the C-S-P structural motif, known for their unique physical and chemical properties. These compounds hold significant value in various fields, including agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and materials science, particularly playing a crucial role in agrochemicals and nucleotide modification. Traditionally, phosphorothioates have been synthesized primarily through the formation of P-S bonds or direct phosphorothioation reactions from organic phosphorus sources such as P(O)H and P(O)SH.

This study aimed to explore the heterogeneity of LUAD in different radiological phenotypes and associated factors influencing tumor evolution.
Methods: We performed single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) on tumor tissues from eight and seven cases of GGN- and PSN-LUAD, respectively, at different disease stages, including minimally invasive adenocarcinoma (MIA), invasive adenocarcinoma (IAC), and metastatic lung cancer (MLC).
Background: Endothelial cell dysfunction and microcirculatory disturbances play crucial roles in the pathogenesis of sepsis. This systematic review and meta-analysis explored the relationship of the plasma levels of the key endothelial proteins intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM1) and vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM1) with clinical outcomes in patients with sepsis.
Methods: MEDLINE and EMBASE were searched through November 28, 2023.
Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is currently one of the most common malignant tumors with the highest mortality rates in the world. Most patients with HCC have lost the opportunity for surgery at the time of initial diagnosis. This study aims to introduce a new conversion strategy: trans-arterial chemo-emobilization (TACE) combined with laparoscopic portal vein ligation (PVL) and terminal branches portal vein embolization (PVE).
