In the field of digital holography, the speckle caused by coherent light greatly disturbs the quality of the reconstruction. This paper presents an innovative method to efficiently reduce speckle noise with a nonlocal means filter based on cosine similarity that determines the weight of each traversal pixel to the target pixel by comparing the similarity between the target pixel neighborhood and the traversal pixel neighborhood. Experimental results with qualitative and quantitative analysis indicate that the proposed method significantly improves noise reduction performance while preserving the details of the original image.

A multicomponent vapour-deposited porous (MVP) coating with combined physical and biochemical properties was fabricated based on a chemical vapour sublimation and deposition process. Multiple components are used based on their natural thermodynamic properties, being volatile and/or nonvolatile, resulting in the sublimation of water vapour (from an iced template), and a simultaneous deposition process of poly--xylylene occurs upon radical polymerization into a disordered structure, forming porous coatings of MVP on various substrates. In terms of physical properties, the coating technology exhibits adjustable hydrophobicity by tuning the surface morphology by timed control of the sublimation of the iced template layer from a substrate.

Fiber biochar-metal organic framework (MOF) composites were successfully prepared by three different biochar preparation methods, namely, the ionic liquid method, the pyrolysis method, and the direct composite method. The effects of the different preparation methods of fiber biochar on the physical and chemical properties of the biochar-MOF composites showed that the composite prepared by the ionic liquid method with the Zeolite-type imidazolate skeleton -67 (ZIF-67) composite after high temperature treatment exhibited a better microstructure. Electrochemical tests showed that it had good specific capacity, a fast charge diffusion rate, and a relatively good electrochemical performance.

In this method, the denoised value is equal to the weighted sum of neighboring pixel values, and the weight is calculated by the degree of correlation between different positions of multiple sub-holograms.

This Letter presents a non-local means filter based on the Pearson correlation coefficient and Butterworth high-pass filter. In the method, the new gray value of the denoising pixel is equal to the weighted sum of the surrounding pixel values. We use the Pearson correlation coefficient between the pixels to calculate the weight of the surrounding pixels to the denoising pixel, then use Butterworth high-pass filter to optimize.
