Background: Exaggerated arousal and dysregulated emotion-memory interactions are key pathological dysregulations that accompany the development of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Current treatments for PTSD are of moderate efficacy, and preventing the dysregulations during exposure to threatening events may attenuate the development of PTSD symptomatology.

Methods: In a preregistered double-blind, between-subject, placebo-controlled pharmaco-functional magnetic resonance imaging design, this proof-of-concept study examined the potential of a single dose of the angiotensin II type 1 receptor antagonist losartan (LT) to attenuate the mnemonic advantage of threatening stimuli and the underlying neural mechanism via combining an emotional subsequent memory paradigm with LT (n = 29) or placebo (n = 30) and a surprise memory test after a 24-hour washout.

Antu County in the Changbai Mountains is an important source of mineral water, but there is a lack of research on the source of groundwater characteristic components, affecting the protection of water resources. This study obtained hydrochemical and isotopic data (28 groups in total, April and September in 2019) by summarizing research and sampling data in order to identify the formation process of characteristics. The formation mechanism of the characteristic components was revealed using geostatistical, isotopic, and hydrogeochemical inversion simulations.

At present, malignant tumor stratification based on the TNM stage is very important for predicting patient prognosis and selecting appropriate treatment. The prognostic factor of ureter urothelial carcinoma is mainly based on the stage according to AJCC (8th) TNM classification. None of the histomorphologic features is recommended to assess patient's prognosis.

Aim: The study aimed to investigate the association between the nocturnal sleep duration and five obesity indicators, namely, visceral fat area (VFA), subcutaneous fat area (SFA), bodyweight, body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC), among people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in Ningbo, China.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted using the National Metabolic Management Centre (MMC) - Ningbo First Hospital data from 1st March 2018 to 28th February 2021. Adults with T2DM were included in the study.

CUB domain-containing protein 1 (CDCP1), as an emerging transmembrane protein, is overexpressed in a variety of malignant tumors including respiratory tumors, digestive system cancers, hematological malignancies and urogenital cancers. Several cancer-related proteins have been reported to interact with CDCP1. It acts as a crucial hub in multiple classical signaling pathways of tumorigenesis and progression.

By inducing-conjugated organic molecule CHNin group II-VI based CdSe network structure materials, the band structures and carrier transport of organic-inorganic hybrid superlattices CdSe(CHN)were investigated via first-principles calculations based on the density functional theory. With different stacking patterns, it is found that the carrier mobility can be modulated by 5-6 orders of magnitude. The physical mechanism of the high carrier mobility in the hybrid structures has been revealed, which means dipole organic layers realize electron delocalization via electrostatic potential difference and build-in electric field.

Marine , a significant contributor to primary production, shows high phylogenetic diversity. However, studies on its phylogenetic composition in the Bohai Sea, the largest continental sea in China, are lacking. We sequenced C1 (encodes the RNA polymerase β' subunit protein) in samples from the Laizhou Bay (LZB) and Bohai Strait (BS) in June and November using high-throughput sequencing to reveal the phylogenetic composition of assemblages in the bay and strait areas of the Bohai Sea.

Nanopore sequencing, also known as single-molecule real-time sequencing, is a third/fourth generation sequencing technology that enables deciphering single DNA/RNA molecules without the polymerase chain reaction. Although nanopore sequencing has made significant progress in scientific research and clinical practice, its application has been limited compared with next-generation sequencing (NGS) due to specific design principle and data characteristics, especially in hotspot mutation detection. Therefore, we developed Nano2NGS-Muta as a data analysis framework for hotspot mutation detection based on long reads from nanopore sequencing.

Docetaxel (DTX) is a highly effective anti-tumor drug frequently used in clinical practice. Previous reports indicated that complications after DTX therapy could be related to retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cell dysfunction, although no direct reports of this relationship have been published. In this study, human embryonic stem cell-derived RPE (hESC-RPE) cells were used to explore the effects of DTX on their morphology, viability, apoptosis, proliferation, and cell cycle.

Marine Synechococcus, a main group of picocyanobacteria, has been ubiquitously observed across the global oceans. Synechococcus exhibits high phylogenetical and phenotypical diversity, and horizontal gene transfer makes its genetic evolution much more intricate. With the development of measurement technologies and analysis methods, the genomic information and niche partition of each Synechococcus lineage tend to be precisely described, but the global analysis is still lacking.

The demand for high-energy-density lithium batteries (LBs) that work under a wide temperature range (-40 to 60 °C) has been increasing recently. However, the conventional lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF)-based ester electrolyte with a solvent-based solvation structure has limited the practical application of LBs under extreme temperature conditions. In this work, a novel localized high-concentration electrolyte (LHCE) system is designed to achieve the anion-containing solvation structure with less free solvent molecules using lithium difluorophosphate (LiPOF) as a lithium salt, which enables wide-temperature electrolyte for LBs.

Prostate cancer remains the most prevalent cancer among men worldwide; however, as a sex hormone-dependent cancer, sex hormones and their receptor signaling play an important role in the development and progression of cancer. Most current treatment options for prostate cancer thus revolve around the inhibition of androgen signaling (eg, ADT), which, although effective in the early stages, eventually progresses to treatment-resistant prostate cancer with no effective follow-up options. Recent studies have shown that among the nuclear receptor family members, in addition to androgen receptors, estrogen receptor (ER) plays an important biological function as a transcription factor and regulatory protein in various cancers, acting either directly or indirectly by forming homodimers or heterodimers with ligands.

NADH-dependent phenylalanine amine dehydrogenase (F-AmDH) engineered from phenylalanine dehydrogenase (PheDH) catalyzes the synthesis of aromatic chiral amines from prochiral ketone substrates. However, its low coenzyme affinity and catalytic efficiency limit its industrial application. Here, we developed a chimeric amine dehydrogenase, cFLF-AmDH, based on the relative independence of the structure at the domain level, combined with a substrate-binding domain from F-AmDH and a high-affinity cofactor-binding domain from leucine amine dehydrogenase (L-AmDH).

Reconstructing axonal projections of single neurons at the whole-brain level is currently a converging goal of the neuroscience community that is fundamental for understanding the logic of information flow in the brain. Thousands of single neurons from different brain regions have recently been morphologically reconstructed, but the corresponding physiological functional features of these reconstructed neurons are unclear. By combining two-photon Ca imaging with targeted single-cell plasmid electroporation, we reconstruct the brain-wide morphologies of single neurons that are defined by a sound-evoked response map in the auditory cortices (AUDs) of awake mice.

Long-distance running has gained massive popularity in recent years, yet the intra-foot adaptations during this event remain unclear. This study aimed to examine the kinematic and ground reaction force alterations induced within the foot following a 5 and 10 km run using the Oxford Foot Model Ten marathon-experienced recreational runners participated in this study. Five-kilometer running led to more rearfoot dorsiflexion, rearfoot eversion, and rearfoot rotation while less forefoot plantarflexion during the stance phase.

Fused deposition modeling is the most widely used 3D-printing technology, with the advantage of being an accessible forming process. However, the poor mechanical properties of the formed parts limit its application in engineering. Herein, a new ultrasonic-assisted fused deposition modeling 3D-printing method was proposed to improve the mechanical properties of the formed parts.
