Marvelous natures of alkali and alkaline earth metal hydrides in catalyzing chemical transformations are being discovered. However, the synthesis of (sub)nanostructured metal hydrides, critically important to enhance their catalytic performances, is yet a very challenging task. Herein, we develop a highly reactive heterogeneous catalyst comprising atomically dispersed barium hydrides on MgO support with an ultrahigh barium loading of up to 20 wt% via a convenient preparation method involving liquid-ammonia impregnation followed by hydrogenation.

Previous studies have primarily focused on the physicochemical properties of AMPs, and there is a scarcity of information regarding the transmembrane structure and interactions of AMPs with cell membranes and their antimicrobial activity. The present study is the first to propose that the backbone cyclization of linear RWV (l(RWV)) into the cyclic RWV (c[RWV]) form can enhance the stability of its transmembrane structure and consequently improve its antibacterial activity.

We aimed to elucidate whether the neurodevelopmental toxicity of sevoflurane is linked to TTBK1 and Tau phosphorylation, as well as to evaluate the neuroprotective mechanism of EE on mice following sevoflurane exposure. Female mice were anesthetized at postnatal day 6 (P6) or P60 with 3% sevoflurane for 2 h daily for three days.

Despite this, we have almost no information on the syntrophy of the intact microbiome metabolisms, from carbohydrates to the one-carbon units, covering multiple stages of ruminant development. In this study, syntrophic effects of polysaccharide degradation and acetate-producing bacteria, and methanogenic archaea were revealed through metagenome-assembled genomes from water saturated dairy cattle feces.

In here, young male mice were subjected to orchiectomy (ORC) to induce testosterone deprivation. Various techniques, including western blotting, immunofluorescence, Morris Water Maze, Golgi staining, and neuronal signal measurement, were used to evaluate the effects of sevoflurane on long-term (ORC 10 weeks) and short-term (ORC 2 weeks) testosterone deprivation, and assess whether testosterone (1 mg/kg 1 h before sevoflurane exposure) could mitigate sevoflurane-induced neurotoxicity.

Given the critical roles of somatostatin (SST) interneurons, associated gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)ergic neurotransmitters, and hippocampal perfusion in sleep-related cognition, this study examined changes in these mechanisms in preoperative SF affecting POCD induced by anesthesia/surgery in aged male mice. The Morris water maze (MWM), novel object recognition (NOR), and Y maze tests were utilized to evaluate POCD.

Catalytic CO conversion to methanol is a promising way to extenuate the adverse effects of CO emission, global warming and energy shortage. Understanding the fundamental features of CO activation and hydrogenation at the molecular level is essential for carbon utilization and sustainable chemical production in the current climate crisis. This review explores the recent advances in understanding the design of catalysts with desired active sites, including single-atom, dual-atom, interface, defects/vacancies and promoters/dopants.

However, the catalysts always suffered from low processing capacity, undesired products and deactivation. Herein, an Ir modified MoO synthesized by the flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) method exhibits higher reaction rate (63.

Molybdenum carbide catalysts have demonstrated excellent performances for catalytic CO conversion, but harsh carburization syntheses and poor stabilities make studies challenging. Here an unsaturated Mo oxide (MoO) shows a high activity for the reverse water-gas shift reaction, without carburization pretreatments, and remains stable for 2,000 h at 600 °C.

Methods: Two parallel 6-0 polyglactin sutures were passed separately through the two haptics on the horizontal line of the 4-haptic IOL. The four externalized sutures were then trimmed and cauterized to form flanges.
Introduction: The aim of this work is to develop a deep learning (DL) system for rapidly and accurately screening for intraocular tumor (IOT), retinal detachment (RD), vitreous hemorrhage (VH), and posterior scleral staphyloma (PSS) using ocular B-scan ultrasound images.
Methods: Ultrasound images from five clinically confirmed categories, including vitreous hemorrhage, retinal detachment, intraocular tumor, posterior scleral staphyloma, and normal eyes, were used to develop and evaluate a fine-grained classification system (the Dual-Path Lesion Attention Network, DPLA-Net). Images were derived from five centers scanned by different sonographers and divided into training, validation, and test sets in a ratio of 7:1:2.
Corn silage can usually improve the growth performance and the meat quality of ruminants, and subsequently increase the economic benefits of farming. However, little is known about the effects of corn silage on donkeys. This experiment investigated the effects of corn silage on the weight gain, gut microbiota and metabolites of Dezhou donkeys.

Objective: Breast cancer (BC) is a deadly form of malignancy responsible for the death of a large number of women every year. Cuproptosis is a newly discovered form of cell death that may have implications for the prognosis of BC. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been shown to be involved in the progression and development of BC.

The morphological changes on optical coherence tomography (OCT) images provided an opportunity for direct observation of the disease, and accurate segmentation was needed to identify and quantify the lesions. Developments of such algorithms had been obstructed by a lack of high-quality datasets (the OCT images and the corresponding gold standard macular hole segmentation labels), especially for supervised learning-based segmentation algorithms.

Environmental plastic wastes are continuously degraded into microplastics (MPs) and nanoplastics (NPs); the latter are more potentially harmful to organisms and human health as their smaller size and higher surface-to-volume ratio. Previous reviews on NPs mainly concentrate on specific aspects, such as sources, environmental behavior, and toxicological effects, but few focused on NPs-related scientific publications from a global point of view. Therefore, this bibliometric study aims to summarize the research themes and trends on NPs and also propose potential directions for future inquiry.
