Objective: To explore the clinical and function efficacy of the treatment of Herbert B2-type scaphoid fracture through volar approach with double screws prograde internal fixation.

Methods: From December 2005 to June 2010,18 patients with Herbert B2-type scaphoid fracture were treated with double screws prograde internal fixation through volar approach, including 14 males and 4 females with an average age of 33.11 years (ranged from 21 to 52 years).

Objective: To compare the clinical effects of three methods of internal fixations in treating intertrochanteric fractures in elderly patients.

Methods: From 2004 to 2008, the clinical data of 112 patients with intertrochanteric fractures were retrospectively analyzed. There were 63 males and 49 females, aged from 60 to 80 years with an average of 66.

The aim of this study was to observe the effects of a sliding plate on the morphology of the epiphyseal plate in goat distal femur. Eighteen premature female goats were divided randomly into sliding plate, regular plate and control groups. Radiographic analysis and histological staining were performed to evaluate the development of epiphyseal plate at 4 and 8 weeks after surgery.

Objective: To investigate the feasibility and safety of the treatment for thoracolumbar fractures with transpedicular intracorporeal hydroxyapatite grafting and pedicle screw fixation via paraspinal approach.

Methods: From June 2007 to December 2008, 19 cases of thoracolumbar fractures were treated with transpedicular intracorporeal hydroxyapatite grafting and pedicle screw fixation via paraspinal approach. There were 7 female and 12 male, ranging from 21 to 57 years of age (mean 40.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of using absorbable screws for retrograde internal fixation in treating scaphoid fractures.
  • Out of 18 patients treated, most experienced successful bone union within an average of 13 weeks, with a follow-up period of 12 to 36 months showing mostly positive outcomes in pain and mobility.
  • The results suggest that this method offers advantages like simpler surgery, better blood circulation, stable fixation, and quicker healing times, making it an effective treatment for scaphoid fractures.

Objective: To develop an epiphyseal slide-traction plate in child, which can supply the fracture a sufficient internal fixation, and will not restrain the growth of epiphyses. Animal experiments were carried out with the plates to compare the slide-traction with traditional plate.

Methods: Develop a slide-traction plate for the configuration of the femur condylus of children.
