Per/polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are ubiquitous, bioaccumulative, and recalcitrant contaminants, posing global exposure and health risks. The effects of chemical structures on toxicities and the mechanisms of their obesogenic effects were largely unclear. This study used the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans to assess the impact of long-term exposure to different PFASs (PFNA, PFOSA, PFBS, PFHxS, 6:2 FTS, 4:2 FTS, PFOA, and PFOS) on growth and lipid metabolism and discussed the obesogenic mechanisms of selected PFASs.

The biological production of GAGs is a strategy that has garnered significant attention due to its numerous advantages over traditional preparation methods. In this review, we embark on a journey to decode the intricate molecular symphony that orchestrates the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans.

Hyaluronidases catalyze the degradation of hyaluronan (HA), which is finding rising applications in medicine, cosmetic, and food industries. Recombinant expression of hyaluronidases in microbial hosts has been given special attention as a sustainable way to substitute animal tissue-derived hyaluronidases. In this study, we focused on optimizing the secretion of hyaluronidase from Homo sapiens in Pichia pastoris by secretion pathway engineering.

Here, a highly active HA lyase HylC from Citrobacter freundii strain Cf1 is reported. HylC was expressed in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3) under the regulation of T7 promoter, and purified to electrophoretic homogeneity for enzymatic characterization, which suggested its suitable thermo- and pH stability under 45 °C and pH rang of 4-8, and high halotolerancy in 1.

However, the specific advantages of polymers are rarely studied. Water-soluble thiourea formaldehyde resin (WTF) is one of the effective polymer amendments.

The cross-modal sensory interaction and the neural network of information processing and its control were not fully explored and the mechanisms remain poorly understood. This mini review investigated the impact of uni-modal and multi-modal information on the taste perception, from the perspective of cognitive status, such as emotion, expectation and attention, and discussed the hypothesis that the cognitive status is the key step for visual sense to exert influence on taste.

There is, however, solid agent is not very convenient to use. Water-soluble thiourea-formaldehyde (WTF) is a novel chelating agent, which has more practical applications.

Objective: To understand the prevalence and risk factors for both HIV infection and prevalence rates of syphilis infection among men who exclusively have sex with men (MSM/M) or with both men and women (MSM/W) in Chongqing municipality, China.
Methods: Cross-sectional studies were conducted in Chongqing. Structured questionnaire-based interviews were conducted to provide information about demographic characteristics, behavior, HIV related health services and sexual transmitted infections (STIs).

Objective: To examine the prevalence and correlates for needle-sharing among new and long-term injection drug users (IDUs) in Sichuan province, China.
Methods: Three consecutive cross-sectional surveys were conducted in 6 prefectures of Sichuan province, from 2003 to 2005. Questionnaire-based interviews provided information including socio-demographics, drug-use, sexual behaviors, and HIV-related services.

Unlabelled: OBJECTIVE; To study the feasibility of using dried blood spot (DBS) specimens in BED-CEIA assay and to estimate the HIV-1 incidence with DBS in China.
Methods: 10 313 participants from 27 voluntary counseling and testing (VCT) sites were enrolled in this study. Both plasma and DBS specimens were collected.
