This study analyzed traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndromes in 549 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
The most prevalent TCM syndrome was damp-heat trapping spleen, primarily affecting individuals over 60 and linked to their occupational activity levels.
The traditional symptom framework for T2DM, known as the "three more and one less," is insufficient to capture the full spectrum of clinical symptoms associated with the condition.
