Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to explore the relationship between anti-phosphatidylserine/prothrombin antibodies (especially IgG and IgM subtypes) and unexplained recurrent miscarriages among women aged 18-40.
  • Conducted at Peking University, it analyzed data from 283 patients with at least one unexplained miscarriage, using statistical methods like Chi-square and Logistic regression for correlation assessment.
  • Results indicated that anti-phosphatidylserine/prothrombin antibodies and IgM subtypes significantly correlated with recurrent miscarriages, while the IgG subtype did not show this correlation.

Objective: To understand the medical treatment and clinical characteristics of patients with IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) with complex clinical manifestations and easy to be misdiagnosed and missed, and to improve the recognition of this disease among doctors from relevant medical departments.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the medical records of patients diagnosed with IgG4-RD who were hospitalized and discharged from Peking University Third Hospital from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2022. Roxarsone (3-nitro-4-hydroxyphenylarsonic acid, Rox), a widely used organoarsenical feed additive, can enter soils and be further biotransformed into various arsenic species that pose human health and ecological risks. However, the pathway and molecular mechanism of Rox biotransformation by soil microbes are not well studied. Therefore, in this study, we isolated a Rox-transforming bacterium from manure-fertilized soil and identified it as Pseudomonas chlororaphis through morphological analysis and 16S rRNA gene sequencing.

Objective: To explore the effects of Linggui Zhugan Decoction (LZD) combined calorie restriction on fasting plasma glucose (FPG), the insulin resistance (IR), and the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-gamma) of IR model rats.

Methods: Totally 48 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into the control group, the model group, the calorie restriction group, and the TCM + calorie restriction group, 12 in each group. Ordinary forage was given to those in the control group, and high fat diet was fed to those in the rest 3 groups for 12 weeks to establish the IR model.

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of presurgical nasoalveolar molding in infants with complete cleft lip and palate.

Methods: Presurgical nasoalveolar molding was performed in 38 infants with cleft lip and palate (26 patients with unilateral cleft lip and palate, 12 patients with bilateral cleft lip and palate), aged between 5 and 30 days. The width of alveolar cleft was measured before and after the operation and the effect of treatment was assessed.
