Background: The clinical outcomes of patients with anaplastic lymphoma kinase-positive (ALK+) advanced lung adenocarcinoma vary according to real-world data.

Objective: In this study, we aimed to investigate the treatment discontinuation (TTD) and overall survival (OS) of patients with ALK+ advanced lung adenocarcinoma treated with first-line ALK-TKIs in Taiwan.

Patients And Methods: This retrospective study evaluated all advanced lung adenocarcinoma patients registered in the National Taiwan Cancer Registry from 2017 to 2020 who had ALK rearrangement and received ALK-TKI treatment, using data from Taiwan's National Health Insurance Research Database (NHIRD).

Homocysteine (Hcy) is an independent and serious risk factor for dementia, including Alzheimer's disease (AD), but the precise mechanisms are still poorly understood. In the current study, we observed that the permissive histone mark trimethyl histone H3 lysine 4 (H3K4me3) and its methyltransferase KMT2B were significantly elevated in hyperhomocysteinemia (HHcy) rats, with impairment of synaptic plasticity and cognitive function. Further research found that histone methylation inhibited synapse-associated protein expression, by suppressing histone acetylation.

Background: The systematic molecular associations between the peripheral blood cells and brain in Alzheimer's disease (AD) remains unclear, which hinders our understanding of AD pathological mechanisms and the exploration of new diagnostic biomarkers.

Methods: Here, we performed an integrated analysis of the brain and peripheral blood cells transcriptomics to establish peripheral biomarkers of AD. By employing multiple statistical analyses plus machine learning, we identified and validated multiple regulated central and peripheral network in patients with AD.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory, dementia is induced by Blood deficiency and Qi weakness, which causes a decline in cognition. Level II lateral neck dissection for papillary thyroid carcinoma: A retrospective cohort study.

Background: For N1b papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) patients, lateral neck dissection encompassing levels Ⅱ-Ⅴ is generally recommended. However, routine level Ⅱ dissection is controversial given the low incidence of metastasis, and potential complications such as increased shoulder syndrome.

Methods: Retrospective analysis of consecutive patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma who underwent lateral neck dissection at a single institution from January 2019 to April 2021 was performed.

Methods: We retrospectively included ES-SCLC patients treated with first-line EP-based chemotherapy plus atezolizumab or durvalumab at Taichung Veterans General Hospital to evaluate the prognostic role and safety of thoracic radiotherapy.

The bare 1^{+} cs[over ¯] states are almost purely given by the states with heavy-quark spin bases.

Methods: We retrospectively enrolled patients with lung adenocarcinoma at Taichung Veterans General Hospital and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital from 2007 to 2015, who were diagnosed with treatment naïve primary tumor lesions at sizes less than 2 cm, as measured by computed tomography (CT) scans.

Reconstruction of massive skin avulsion of the scrota and penis by combined application of dermal regeneration template (Pelnac) and split-thickness skin graft with vacuum-assisted closure: A case report.

Background: Although skin avulsions to male external genitalia are rare, they can be both physically and psychologically traumatic. Thus, the necessity for judicious management poses significant challenges to surgeons in order to avoid potential permanent disabilities. We report a case of massive penoscrotal skin avulsion and a composite graft was creatively applied to cover the defect which achieved good results.
